Are any amateurs allowed to race?  Or even just do the track day practice?

If you have raced CCS amateur this year, you can race Daytona.

actually i think as long as you have a race license you can race at daytona. You are gridded by your standing in the class you enter .. so you will be gridded at the back if you have zero points in the class you enter, and don't pre-enter.  I would suggest getting some experience elsewhere first, just do to the sustained high speed, and come with a well prepared bike.
