Out of curiosity, is it 500 points in ALL classes in one year for an amateur to for expert or is it in the selective class point structure?

500 points cumulative, all classes, but you can turn down the expert status once, and remain amateur for one additional year. You don't bump when you reach 500, but rather at the beginning of the following season. BTW, you can ask to bump up once you do reach 500 pts, but you lose half those points when advancing, so it's probably not worth it.

Thanks Alexa. I figured it was for teh next season. Just wasnt sure if it was selective classes (GT, SS, SB, GP) or culmative.

BTW are you gonna be at BHF this weekend? IF so I'm bringing my street gear to see what you think.

That's not exactly right...  The 500 points is calculated from the following races:
Supersport, Superbike, Grand Prix, GTs, and Sportbike.  If you accumulate 500 points in those classes, then you are on my list at the end of the year to bump up.  Also, you are not guaranteed one downgrade back to Amateur status.  If you choose to petition to stay amateur, we review it when we receive it, and it is then that we make the final call.

 Don't Sportsman or Thunderbike count?

I will be there Saturday only. I've got a ton of work! (you all are keeping me busy!) Not complaining, happy about it actually!  :-*

Supertwins must count also.  That's the only class I ever score any points in, and somehow I ended up with white plates.

Thanks Tiff.

I understand that way for overall track championships, but that leaves us that dont race ss, sbk, GP, GT and SB regularly kinda out in the cold.
