Why no Road Racing World coverage...

I see WERA gets a lot of Road Racing World coverage and very rarely see CCS write ups on either their web site of in the mag?

Not sure why.................

Because typically authors get paid to write columns or articles. Lisa Theobald has done a good job covering the Florida Region races with photos and articles. I don't know who does it for WERA.

i've got to agree with you, but there is some association of CCS/ASRA and AMA. Is it necessary to compete with the AMA at this point?

It's just frustrating seeing the well covered WERA race reports and virtually nothing about CCS weekends. It gives the impression that WERA events are of a higher caliber.......


Sure would be nice to see CCS write ups each month and online press releases each Monday.

As someone who has been a regular contributor to Roadracing World over the past years, in the last two they haven't asked for photos from CCS/ASRA @ Road America.  Which in the past was guaranteed coverage for the midwest.  Why?  I don't know.

sorry,i know this topic was over a month ago,but i find the opposite to be true,more ccs coverage than wera in RRW.

The following, taken from the Road Racing World website might provide a pretty good insight as to the relationship between the magazine owner. John Ulrich and WERA:

Roadracing World & Motorcycle Technology is the only publication of its kind; owned, operated and controlled by the Editor, not by guys who sell advertising. John Ulrich, who co-founded Team Hammer in 1980 with Bruce Hammer, edits Roadracing World. Ulrich has won several journalism awards and his teams have won 13 WERA National Endurance Championships, five AMA Pro Road Racing titles, five Formula USA Championships and a dozen WERA Superstock and Suzuki National Cup Series titles. Every full-time editorial staffer has won races and Championships, from AMA Pro Road Racing National races to a WERA National Endurance Championship to a Suzuki Cup Final to a F-USA Team Challenge title to CCS and WERA Championships to local club events. That experience also means an ability to tell BS and PR fluff from fact and a willingness to print the truth.

I think they receive the same coverage, but the WERA National Challenge Series gets more coverage, similar to an ASRA event, since these are "semi-pro" and a step up from the club classes.
