It looks like 2 different F2 motors that went south in back to back weekends some years ago.  It looked like the rod bolts were the weak link.  The ones that didn't break were stretched.  Conventional wisdom says that when you shut the throttle at high rpm, you no longer have the gas pressure pushing down on the piston helping it reverse direction.  Did it happen just when you started shutting down for a turn?  Another possibility is over-rev caused by downshifting too early, but this usually attacks the valve train.  By the way, I still have a stock F4 engine in the garage.  It's not the one I raced on.  My engine guy had taken it apart and  didn't have it back together when I came to pick it up.  This one is out of a crashed bike that had fairly low miles.  $1000 plus shipping if you're interested.  jlight@dca.net

hi-side

I like that custom work you've done there, but I'm not certain if that's the correct place for an exhaust port...

It started in 5th gear, nearly topped out on the straight at road A.  It started shaking and lost power, I hit 6th and it let loose.

Nah... that's okay, I'm selling it off to fund some spares for the new RR
