Well  I was hoping it would be before Septembruary, because I have this diabolical plan of putting a destroked and resleeved sv1000 motor in an sv650 frame and homologate it...

Sure.  As long as you run under 10 lbs of boost you're legal......

MELK-MAN

sounds like a plan !  ! They are stuffing all kinds of things in all kinds of frames already in LT Wt so you would be right there as far as ingenuity goes. :)

Except the motor configuration of the SV 1000 fits into middleweight, or is heavyweight. My 748 isn't legal for lightweight because it began life as a middleweight. I don't think the middleweight experts would want me in their way

No.  Thunderbike,LWGP.  but this is CCS.  they allow all kinds of ridiculous shit in the LW classes.

Ridiculous as it may be it isn't just for lightweight. It is also allowed in Middleweight GP and Unlimited GP as well. Those are run what you brung classes All modifications are unlimited at least in my interpretation and it just happens a middleweight chassis is better than most lightweight chassis. Bimota has built an incredible chassis and installed the lightweight legal Ducati motor, and so has Pierobon. Incidentally Pierobon is the builder of many WSBK Ducati chassis.

I don't know if the aftermarket chassis would be much better than the current crop of middleweight chassis for GP so not much advantage in spending the cash.

I understand the CCS format and in my perspective it allows me to use innovative new ideas to make things work. Lightweight does't always have the best equipment so putting my ebay bike together to compete with those highfalutin machines then I say GAME ON!

If I want to race rider skill for rider skill I would race WERA. For me I would lie to race all guys, Big guys and small guys. In my eyes I the bigger guy will need a little mechanical advantage and so sometimes I allow them to be a little over the legal limits it evens things out. Some other racers have launch control and it certainly is an advantage.

I'm adding rocket boost to my LW bike. Gonna get that little extra OOMPH on the last corner exit to get past Mavros.

Hmmm maybe I need a "stay back 100 feet" sign for my tail section?
