Thanks NASCRAP.............................

For moving Speed Weeks ahead a week.

Now Bikeweek is a week later and as usual, the 2nd week of March weather will be great and temps in the 80's.

Also, Speed is to become Fox Sports 1 http://superbikeplanet.com/2013/Mar/130306fox.htm . Not to mention that as of right now, the AMA only has a tv deal for the Daytona 200 weekend beyond that watching AMA Pro Racing on TV doesn't appear to be an option for 2013.  BeIn sports picked up World SBK's and the coverage was phenomenal, MotoGP will be on SPEED but nothing on AMA SBKs...
Well how could there be two number 1's? It'd be number 11 then?

Daytona Bike Week is still only 1 week. It's just a week later than it used to be and warmer. The AMA has nothing to do with the organization nor running of Bike week. The Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce runs it.  Motorcycle racing during Daytona Bike Week is only one activity of many to do here. It's just like the other rallies around the country. Laconia Motorcycle Week, Sturgis Motorcycle Week, Wildwood Motorcycle Week, Myrtle Beach Bike Week, Delmarva Bike Week, and Daytona Bike Week. Let's not forget the brand specific rallies, BMW, Goldwing, and the others. It is to get away from the snow and cold and to have fun no matter what kind of bike you have. They could have name it more appropriately,  "Cabin Fever Bash". Besides , it'll be over 10 degrees warmer than last week up at RRR. That's a good thing.  :thumb:

Off topic guys.  Contrary to the belief that the AMA has screwed up everything in this universe, including the weather, it ain't true. This thread is about better weather a week later in March. Be it Daytona, Flori-DUH or Bloomingdale, GA.  :kissy:

Have you ever been to the AMA races at Daytona?  I've only gone once and the crowds were abysmal the whole weekend, looked like a club race with a couple thousand people even at the 200 and those people definitely did not look like they were bike weekers.  Again I can only speak for the one year but it seemed like two separate crowds.

It froze in Daytona April 14th. one year.

Seems like now would be a good time to get CCS back on the Daytona shedule for March.
23 entrees for the 200 this year, not good.

Raise the purse, there's not much incintive now days, everyone makes good money except the racers.
Things have been getting tuff all over the planet for motorcycle racing, world superbike riders paying to ride etc.
