Now that you mention it Melk-man, my suspension wasn't set up then and was way to stiff for my weight. I had issues all that year with just eating up tires everywhere. That could very well explain the chunking at the slower speeds I was running.

there ya go. if your bike was tearing tires at other tracks, it's no wonder you had issues at Daytona.. I'm pretty confident this years thin-light Michelin tires will work much better than last years heavier-thicker tire.

And FYI : Steve B. has asked at least the michelin tire vendors to not mount any other Dunlop tires other than the Daytona specific compound. Walt just told him "how bout i don't mount any of em"..
