Summit pt website shows both CCS and F2000 cars racing the main circuit, weekend of Aug. 25-26.  F2000 Championship Series has the track on Friday 24th as well.

Summit schedule:  http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/index.php?option=com_gcalendar&view=gcalendar&Itemid=37#year=2012&month=8&day=1&view=month

F2000 even has us [CCS] listed as a "headline event" :  http://www.f2000championshipseries.com/schedule.html

So, if we are to share the track with them on Sat and Sun, are they going to share friday practice with us? ::)

No tentative schedule up from CCS yet, but this looks like a :wtf:

Maybe if they shorten all of the races to 6 lap sprints like they're doing at Jersey...

Yep. Cars.

Tentative schedule was just posted:  http://www.ccsracing.us/schedules/2012/2012%20schedule%20pdf/Summit%20Aug%20Tentative%20SCHEDULE.pdf

Are we taking bets on things changing to 6 laps /20min GT's on Saturday at the riders meeting

I think the cars should enjoy the cold, damp track at 7:30 am ..........
on the other hand, having their practice sessions last will give track workers the 45 minute lunch break to
clean all the dirt and debris off the racing surface

I knew this was coming about 3 weeks ago and I don't think I mind. They get on the track early to clean/dry it off (hopefully keeping it clean). They race before lunch and then again at the end of the day.

It should be most interesting to see what the paddock looks like on Saturday morning - cars, bikes, AND sidecars!

...and fist-fights for paddock space? Here's the F2000 entry list for Summit Point:

Currently shows 39 drivers. That seems like a lot of cars and potentially decent sized haulers to me. And Summit isn't letting anyone with CCS in until 6pm Friday (just called the office at Summit and double-confirmed what someone else posted in another thread).

The last couple of Summit rounds have had what I would say are decent turn-outs and fairly full paddocks with motorcycles alone. This will be interesting to say the least.

and that 39 cars is just the f2000 class. there are also two other classes. so our practices are all combined down to 3 groups so we dont get decent practice to fit the cars in.
also what many racers dont realize is the airfence has to be picked up on top of the tire walls before the cars go on track and put back in place after they are done. that is 3 times each day. dont plan on practice starting on time as ccs only has 5 min in the schedule for that to happen after the cars do their morning warmup. hahaha. there is going to be lots of down time as anyone who has ever helped with airfence knows that is a big job, so make sure everyone thanks the cw this weekend and bring them lots of beer.
and they are also cramming sidecars and team challenge into the same weekend. get ready for laps to be cut.

I just spoke to CCS. From what I understand, Kevin E is at Summit working with the Track and Car people to get designated parking in place for the cars [over in front of tech and the grass area near the Apple Chapel ?]  His intention is to keep them organized / from spreading out all over the paddock.

And, as Jeannie stated in another thread, the fire lane rules will be strictly enforced this weekend, so keep your gear behind the line or expect to move it.

Also of note: we "MAY" be entering thru the 2nd gate over at the Shenandoah circuit.....that's not confirmed. I'm just throwing it out there so you'll be prepared for the possibility.

Rumor has it this didn't work out so well and that the cars have taken over the paddock. In addition, cars and haulers have taken over PAID VENDOR reserved spots; vendor was told 'too bad' and here's your money back. I hope this turns out better than I anticipate.
