Anyone who has made a bad decision on the track knows how im feeling. I want to appologize to the guy i hit and the guy who went down because of my radiator leaking. I thought I could make a pass work and this is my 4th race. I out broke one rider but closed in to quickly on the next rider in front of him. I think i hit George Mayer and number 526 amateur went down cause my bike was spraying out of the radiator. I went down also because of the leak. Being new means learning and i want everyone to know im not that guy. I have to work on monday also and i feel really bad. If anyone talks to those two guys tell them i am sorry. In the future i will be much more careful when passing.  :banghead:

Good on you for the apology and not making excuses. I have seen the video from the guy you were trying to pass. It looks just like you described. You got into 6 a little too hot and collected George. Can't afford to get caught up in the battle so much that you make a mistake, but I am sure you know that now. They both have busted collarbones, but will survive to race another day.

Like I said in the paddock Stu...all we can do is learn from our mistakes/misfortunes...

Racing is dangerous, but you can control the danger/safety if you ride responsibly. Yes, we all want to win. Winning clean has a much greater value than having people feel that they were done wrong...

Way to sack up and apologize...

Stu,
This is George, the guy you decided to use as a brake marker in turn 6, yesterday during MWSS. Thanks for the apology, just a couple of points I would like to share with you. First, when you are involved in an incident were you take out another rider and they are injured, an apology in person goes a long way. Second, given you are new to racing, I suggest you spend some time working on developing the skills necessary to make agressive passes safely. This is my third season on the Ducati and just recently have I felt confident enough in my skills to run with the top guys in middle weight amateur. Since I also have to work on Monday, I think the approach of building skills little by little has been better for me and safer for the riders around me. At the end of the day we go out there for fun and to hopefully enjoy the hobby for many years, we can only do this if we are safe and smart about it.

Stu,

Like George has eluded to a face to face apology goes a long way. What you can do now is to call the other riders and offer some kind of apology if you are serious about your apologies. The race promoter would be more than willing to help you with that.

It does seem that you were being ruthless or reckless in your riding during the race and it finally caught up with you. Unfortunately it took two other riders out and created damages to both. At least one will have surgery from the injury.

Now we all make mistakes and many times bad choices leading to bad outcomes. Being careful when passing won't fix things for you. Learn the skills that is necessary for racing and passing. And may i suggest pass on the outside instead.

Thanks guys for not ripping me apart. I do still feel real bad about what happened. George i am sorry and i'll appologize in person at the next race we are at. Mark thanks for the advice. I try to absorb and learn as much as possible. I was riding a little over my head. Learning little by little is a good suggestion. I want to win safely and cleanly. I plan on racing Roebling in two weeks and i will be much much much more careful.

Stu,

Get with me at Roebling. I will be there as well and I am sure we share the same sentiment of never wanting to be the source of someone's pain. I have made some bad choices myself but mostly have been the sole recipient of the pain. I have also made the choice to crash even in someone else's bad choice.

If you are willing, we can talk shop and possibly offer myself as a mentor of some sort.

Stu, get with Mark, he's a great racer and has been doing this a long time. His advice will make you faster and safer for sure.
I'll see you guys in a couple of months, off to surgery tomorrow. Good luck at RRR and be safe.
