The 250 does sound fun, I know I will probably outgrow it eventually... but I have to get there first.  The Kaw has 70hp and the Triumph is like 55. I think the SV650 does around 80hp stock and is a probably 50lbs lighter than the Kaw... Don't look down on the Dyna either, its got 108ft/lbs max torque and pretty nimble on the corners (I keep hitting my damn pegs). Riding windy country roads and a racetrack are different animals though.

When you are talking about race prepping the bikes, what all does that entail, what sort of mods am I looking at?

Thanks guys
Right now most of us 250 riders are running under a gents agreement to keep the engines bone stock. So safety wire, belly pan, tires, and go!

A set of DOT race tires, race brake pads and jetting are recommended. You can go with springs, exhaust and controls but some of the Florida riders I have raced with have proven that they are not necessary.
If you have a moment you may want to check out a Face book / web page we developed to help promote the 250 class:

But whatever you do.......dont listen to me (14 years racing experience), Bruce (dude raced with Jesus, so lots of years racing experience!), & Miguel (15 years racing experience)......

All 3 of us, with lots of experience on lots of machinery......& all 3 of us will say that the Ninja 250 class is the most fun racing we've ever had!

I don't race another bike, but if it helped Bruce go faster on his SV (& he flys on that thing!!!), it says something for making a guy who's been an Expert for longer than I've been racing suddenly drop times!
