Is there any Friday practice for CMP?  I checked their schedule and did not see any practice like there was for Roebling...

That is WRONG. Gates won't open Thursday at all.  Friday morning at 6:30am. See the CCS website front page for more info.

Who's hosting the parking log BBQ tomorrow night?
In all seriousness, is the CMP parking lot good to camp in? I'm in a van with two guys, so we would have to unload two bikes into the parking lot, and pitch a tent.  Is that do-able?

I doubt they'd let you pitch a tent on the road leading to the track.  (It's just a road .. not much room for more than vehicles.)

If I were you, I'd either get a motel or leave very early on Friday morning .. unless you can all sleep in your van LOL

Yeah, I called CMP and they told me 5:30p on Thursday and even gave me camping prices too. 

I have the same situation as you.  Two bikes in a cargo van which I sleep in.

Thankfully I should be getting there reasonably early [11 hour drive starting at 7am] so I can head to the track, see if they'll let us in, and if not, plenty of time to drive to the local side of the highway ditch motel.
