This past weekend at Topeka the grids weren't that large and we had several races where we had 3-4 riders who had back-to-back races.  It happens fairly often - I work 8-10 races a year as either Starter or Grid Marshal/Tech and it's a regular occurance.

What to expect:

* They won't change the schedule to meet your needs.  It creates more problems than it solves.

* Make sure the Race Director or Grid Marshals know your situation.  Unless the race day is way behind schedule due to weather or Red Flags they'll give you a couple of extra minutes between races to regroup - but the officials have to know about your situation.  More than likely you won't be the only one in those races with the same conflict.

* Do whatever you can to be efficient between races.  Have everything you need between the races setup on Hot Pit  - fuel, drink, umbrella etc.  Advantage of doing this on Hot Pit is that you won't be surprised when the 5 board goes up for the next race and you won't miss your warmup lap.
