Checked the rule book, but didn't see anything. Are lightweight batteries allowed in supersport?

CCS rules have generally been inclusive.  If it is nothing in the rules for that modification in that category, in your case Supersport, then you're allowed to do as you like.  I don't have a rule book in front of me, but if there is nothing in the rules stating that the battery has to be OEM or OEM style or whatever, then you can change it as you wish.

This is different from other organizations where one must use the OEM or OEM sized product replacement for a production/supersport/superstock class.

Hope that helps!  If there's an issue, someone should chime in.  Certainly read the rule book one more time to see if there is something specific about batteries or the charging system.

Why not? Supersport isn't stock, Superstock would be stock.
