What Class?
« on: March 05, 2011, 12:31:44 pm »
Hey guys, April 2-3 at Jennings marks my first ever race on a sport bike. I've been racing motocross for most of my life but I'm confused as to what class I should enter. I'm on a R1 and running around 1:27- 1:30 lap times. I have about 5 track days under my belt and I have only a few mods to the bike other  than full race fairings (velocity stacks, slip-on exhaust, air filter). Any suggestions?

Basically anything unlimited class. unlimited supersport, unlimited superbike, unlimited GP and GTO are pretty much the only classes you can run with a R1. Although pretty sure the velocity stacks will keep you out of supersport.

Only if you are on the podium will the velocity stacks matter. Take it out there and have some fun in all the unlimited classes.

Thanks for the info. Are there different levels of unlimited classes  like novice, intermediate, expert?
