It's just a different group of people.  Either site can get you the same general information if you have a serious question.  The WERA board just has 10x the people who will reply just to reply.

If you look at the posts here versus there, (and mind you, I'm not saying either is better or worse, just pointing out a difference), you will see that posts here generally have a hell of a lot more text in the replies than the posts on the WERA forum which tend to be "2XIDB! LOL"

So basically, I look at it as here you don't have to weed through so much stuff.  But the drawback is that there isn't all that "stuff" to kill time with...

I like CMRA's approach.  If you're not a registered racer, you have limited participation.  One thread got me really heated up - this non-racer started making pronouncements about new Big Big Endurance rules - sounded like a real authority - had to bite my keyboard on that one.  I F!@#$%g hate opinionated, ignorant people - if you know what you're talking about, then feel free to express an intelligent opinion, otherwise read and learn.
Oh and it's clear to me that all Ducati/Buell/Bimota racers are all cheaters..... I'm waiting for the bombs to go off!!!  But seriously I have no problem competing against them because although they make more power, they are generally heavier are are typically much tougher to ride than an SV - but I digress.
Most racers post their race #s so you know they are the real deal.  Can't slam track day guys too much because they are some of my best customers and at least are smart enough to take it off the street.  The street guys....on the other hand

I guess I could put my old number 359 retired so I'm bonified. I think someone else had it this year.  And since I have 5 old clunker ducatis that must put me beyond just cheating and somewhere close to extortion.  Not quite a bernie madoff schemer unless you throw  in the moto guzzi and the bultaco. I do own two yamahas and a honda 125 so maybe that evens it up a little.

Stephen,
Isn't that the day you're teaching the MSF course and can't haul any other bikes to the track?   :err:

That was a weird weekend.  Drive to Rockford to teach a weekend mcycle class - was toying with bring one or two race bikes in case but didnt't.  Sure enough, not enough students for both classes so drove back home, spent the night and loaded up for BHF early next for a full weekend of racing.

Even when we disagree on this site it stays civil.  Mostly racers voicing their opinions about racing.  Not much BS and even when their is, it is done tastefully.  I really think that you will enjoy the CCS forum more than WERA.  Hope to see you at the track.

Whenever a forum has a dungeon.....People will come from all over to start trouble!  Wera has some good info though and funny threads. CCS is very much racing orientated.

This post is in our version of their Dungeon...  We just don't have the quantity of people here who are interested in arguing.

I tend to stay off of the WERA bbs due to the bashing going on.  I started racing and have done track days for fun.  Getting in arguments just isn't fun for me.  It is also the same reason why I decided to race CCS instead of WERA.

They are just 2 different organizations with a different (at least that is the way it appears to me) mentalities.  I think it is fantastic that there are choices of who to race with and I just happened to pick CCS.

I also mainly just read and posted a few questions as I am new to racing.  On track day forums I post much more often because I know a bit more about that.
