Sounds like wera has a lot more to.wire is this true?

Yes. WERA requires a lot more stuff to be wired.

Example;
Header stud nuts
Caliper bolts
Oil galley plugs and banjo bolts (I think)
ect...

I could be wrong, it's been a while since I ran with those guys but, I believe all of the coolant component bolts, ie; water pump, thermostat housing, water bosses and the radiator cap get wired as well along with some other stuff.

Also; if you have the spring type clamps on your hoses, they need to be wired in such a way that they don't open up.
Your best bet is to replace all of them with the worm gear type hose clamp.
