How about this rule?
Back when it was  CCS-FUSA a few years ago to be able to race at the race of champions you must race in at least 5 races in a class to be able to race in that race in the event.
Now you can race in a class that you never raced the whole year.
Someone can just borrow a bike and win that race and they are the national champ and didnt even do a regular race in the season.
And it happened this year!!

Mark, I'm starting this as a new topic for you!

Did anyone win a Natl Championship this year that didn't race?

I certainly wouldn't say they couldn't race at all in the ROC, just that they wouldn't be counted in the results for that class if they didn't qualify for that class during that season. (because there's people who go to the ROC that may only run a couple events per season and/or just like racing at Daytona).

Slight correction
in 2004 there was a national championship bonus; to earn that you must have competed in 5 events in that class.
CCS National championships have been open to all competitors and won by the best racer regardless of prior racing.

I like the idea....5 races may be a little extreme though.   Southeast only has 6 weekends and I have a bad habit of not always racing the same races....money has a lot to do with it.

At the same time the local guys had the advantage.
