was thinking of taking my wife to laguna seca this year before she has back surgery. is anybody going and are you taking a tour package or just winging it.  I've been to CA several times but not Monterrey   any ideas?

Marc, I was thinking about going and trying to get Nancy to go also. Her vacation schedule is all booked up as they only allow a limited number on vacation-someone has to answer the 911 calls.

looked at some tours on line all seem to be from england. chirs goes every year and goes off the cuff. but he has enough connections to get passes for above the garages. which looks like the hard part although he says there is plenty of places to  watch with general admission and a paddock pass i think the airfare is a large part of the expense. hotels are about normal though

Mark kidnapping comes to mind.  If Nancy is kidnapped for a vacation and she's not there to answer her own 911 call, how does that work..... thoughts are quickly coming to mind...lol.

PS.. Mark, before we can go on vacation, the new Aprilla proto type hover 'round chair needs to be created.

Ah yes. My mind is already at work. Well, the 911 call first goes to the Sherrifs office and then relayed on so I am not sure how that would work Robin.

I was to some degree offered a hook-up with paddock passes.

Lol, at first I was just kidding, but I think we should kidnap Nancy anyway.  I didn't know Marc was planning a get away until I peeked on the site to see if anything interesting was happening, needless to say I was surprised to see Marc wanting to do this for me before the inevitable.  It sounds like fun, Marc and I have been wanting to go to CA for the races for a long time now.  Last time I was in CA is where I got hooked up for my leathers.  I think it's awesome that they have an all girls club for riding, some day I want to take them up on their offer and ride the coast line.  Once with the club, then take an extended ride with Marc.

I have never been to CA. and thought that this would be an opportune time, especially to bring Nancy along. She has one day off that she needs but there is one day that there is no coverage.

Hey, if you're going to be in the area, the Monterrey Bay Aquarium is great to visit.  Carmel is a great town to visit as well.  Make sure to take a trip along the coastline on route 1.  It's fabulous!

The wife and I planned to go but we just bought a house. There's still a glimmer of hope. It will be our first time there so i'll watch the posts for tips.

Ugh!  I am thinking I may not be able to hold out until after the CA race.  For those who want to know a little of what's going on, I have severe back/disc problems in now, all 7 of my cervical discs, four now are severely pushing into the spinal cord and all of my lumbar discs, to put it simple - are all gone, wiped out.  Now my thoracic spine is in jeopardy of going next.  Unfortunately, this is stemming from an auto accident in 1999.  At times it is painfully comical, especially when I loose feeling and complete control of my right arm, it just flops around like a aggravated piece of meat..lol.  Or when my left knee gives out and I fall like a rag doll while my glass of water goes flying in the air.  I know, I know,  :whine:  lol.

While at the races, many of the people I have come to be friends with have asked, why the cane, why the knee brace, why the foot brace (lol)... I wish I could have stated that it was from something cool like a CCS Race gone bad.  But, it was from a 3rd offense DUI dude that obviously couldn't refrain from his addicting liquids.  On the 12th of May, I decided to try a Lumbar Epidural Injection, and OMG! What a freakin mistake that was.  I should have researched it even more.  Apparently, it's best for chronic lumbar back pain for those who are in this shape for maybe 2 years or less, for me it was a disaster.  I could not believe the headache it caused, it was worse than any migraine and I have had it now for 9 days and no one can tell me how long it will last.  And on top of that, it made the cervical problems/pain even worse and the leg pain/weakness even worse. And even worse, my vision has been messed up, I see two of my hubby..lol

Where I am going with this is, IF any of you have back pain and are considering any type of Epidural Injections - research it first. My pain management doctor did not tell me at all that I could experience these things and found out the hard way.  Think long and hard, because all I can say, for me, the pain it created afterwards was not worth it.  So it seems, sadly I will have to have the surgery before the CA race, but I suppose there is always hope for a quick recovery and some really good pain meds to make the trip.   :boink:
