The Great Plains awards banquet and party are scheduled for Saturday, January 30. We'll start up at 7:00 and go late. Location is Korruption in the West Bottoms in Kansas City ( http://www.myspace.com/korruptionkc ). The food will be catered by Cupini's (a well known KC Italian restaurant, not your typical banquet food). After the dinner and the awards presentation there will be a band. In the past we've had the banquet and everyone then trooped down the street to a bar. By having the event in a bar I think that we can maximize everyone's party time and make it more fun for everyone.

You need not be a racer to come out. If you have a friend who races, or you plan on racing, or you just want a good excuse for a party then you're quite welcome.

Cost for the evening is $35 including two drink tickets.

Email me at greg@caferacerinc.com with any questions or to sign up.

Thanks.

Thanks for posting this, Greg.

Sounds like a blast!  I'll add this to the GP banquet page on the CCS website.

Here's the bar's full address:  Korruption, 1717 West 9th St., Kansas City Missouri (ph: 816-842-1078)

Google "Korruption West Bottoms Kansas City"  .. you'll find that the bar (and the West Bottoms area in general) has an interesting history. Here's an article written not long after it opened

Now to find a decent motel to crash in afterwards ..

No need for a Hotel.....  I heard everyone's invited over to Greg's house afterwards!   :kicknuts:

Rick you're more than welcome at my house.  I've put up a few out of town guests at previous banquets.  Just bring a sleeping bag.

Any Mid-West riders who have Great Plains trophies coming can get in touch with me to have their GP trophies shipped to them.

Same goes for Great Plains racers who can't attend the GP party on Jan 30.

It's silly to ship them all the way to Kansas just to have them sit there until Heartland Park.

These are shipping on JANUARY 18th, so you have a week to let me know.

You won't have any problems with access.  The whole bar is at sidewalk level.

Oddly enough this is also the same level where Tom will be after 17 beers.

No .. Mid-West trophies were sent to the MW banquet if you didn't let me know to pull them.  I don't second-guess this kind of thing .. and I'm not psychic, unfortunately.

The Mid-West region awards be available for pick-up at the next Blackhawk race in May and can be mailed after that.
