Hello all,
It's looking like we're making the move to Fla, most likely the Homestead area.
Just wanted to say hey, and look forward to seeing everyone next season.
Thanks for posting up the 2010 schedule in another thread so I didn't have to ask
Unless something drastic happens, I'll be at all of the Florida rounds in MWSS.
I'm also putting together a 1st gen ex250.....is anyone playing on these things in south Fla?

Hello Vance,

Welcome to the Florida Region. You will be right at Homestead Speedway where three of the rounds are held. The first will be in February of 2010. Our last round is in december usually the first weekend of that month if you are ready to do a little racing before 2009 ends.

There are no EX250 racers but we do have a wide array of bikes within the Ultralight class where the EX250 best fits. The field is dominated with SV650 with only a splattering of Ducati800 or 750. The occasional Triumph 750 and my brother on the FZR400, so you will have someone to race with.

I'm novice/am
Not too sure I'll keep the 250 if I'm racing against sv's though.
It was intended to be the starter bike for the wife, (also an extra toy for me) but you guys have tons of mini tracks in that area :thumb:
I'm thinking that may be more her speed

Is that all you guys think about!  Racing and Food???  Oh yeah, I guess that is all we think about.  Welcome Vance.  Now I'm gonna have some barbeque and change the oil in the bike.

It's a go.
We're heading down to south Fla Feb 1st.
Picked up a rosetta stone for the wife.. lol

Quick question:
I've been looking for a basic DAILY schedule for a typical weekend.
Are there sprints on both Sat and Sun, or are the GT classes kinda like the solos for wera, and run on Sat only?
Just trying to figure out how many races per day, what all I can run my 600 in, etc.
The more track time the better, for me, but the Unlimited classes that pay contingency......
Do they usually split the experts and novice, or is it based on grid size?
I've raced in combined races and feel comfortable, but on a new track (to me) I don't want to be out there when experts are racing for money, I'll just do a track day later!
Thanks, and look forward to racing with you guys and gals.

Vance,

The Florida Region is a little different than many others with their scheduling. I like it mainly because it benefits the racer that has never been to a track. It allows you more time to get a rhythm on Saturday.

Saturday is a practice only day put on by Florida Region CCS for $75. You get up to 7 sessions and at least 5 sessions. A good average is 6 sessions that you can count on. The only time there will be less is beacuse of inclement weather. We practice in the rain also.

Sunday is all day racing. On Sunday morning there is a morning practice at 08:00 until about 09:00, rider's meeting and then racing at 10:00. First up and before lunch is GTOExpert, GTO Amateur, GT lights Combined, GTU Expert, and GTU Amateur.

Some other classes you will be eligible for;
6) Unlimited Supersport (combined)
9) Amateur Middleweight Supersport
11) Heavyweight Supersport (Combined)
12) Unlimited Superbike (combined)
13) Formula 40(if you are 40Y/O)
15) Middleweight Superbike (combined)
17) Heavyweight Superbike (combined)
Middleweight GP (combined)

No money in Amateur class but lots of contingency.

Thanks for the info.
And Holy Sh#t!  $75 for a full day?
Even if it's 10-12 minute sessions, that pretty damn cheap. :thumb:

Vance it is a deal for Saturday. Sessions are about 20 mins long and I get up to 10 laps on a Ultralight bike. Then the $55 for each race can't be beat.
