Trophy's in the Midwest Region?

Ahem, ahem, excuse me but will the New Slim Shady please stand up!  Well, since I've been around the block a few times over the last 6 years or so of racing.  I wanted to mention that I noticed that the trophy's are a little different down here in Florida Vs. the Midwest.  The First Place Trophy is almost a 3 foot standing tall, in Red and Gold or Silver beautiful trophy.  Now, in the Midwest, we get a plaque that is 6 inches by 5 inches.  I've developed over the years some nice firewood, and I'm only saying that because that it was I heard over the years in the Midwest Paddocks.  Heaven knows that Ed Key stays warm every winter!  LOL!

Secondly, I noticed that we have a Podium at every race as well for the Top Three finishers, which includes Fourth and Fifth, (you step to the sides), and are able to watch your fellow racers and family's support for them or yourself included if you happen to be lucky that day.

Now, not that I'm jealous nor bragging, but I could've had a few of those in the past from the Midwest Region.  I know, don't say it, I'll have to just Win one down here to get one.  I'm with you!

My point here is that I'm paying the same money as most of you are to earn the rewards.  However, why is it different?  I noticed more comaraderie here for that, and everyone gets to know who is who better and even make new friends. It also gives a racer something more to try for, to achieve that success, and coming out Next Year and keeping the grids fuller!  It didn't even take that long to award everyone who deserved the Big Prizes.  So, unless it just changed recently, I thought you'd want to know.

they give out trophies and plaques???

Devin,

Go back to bed!  Btw- you're exhaust is bent into your swingarm if you didn't notice.  I'm surprised you didn't notice that at the track while riding it.  I bet the suspension isn't moving like it should be.

i noticed it was like that after the wreck in the gtu. I actually noticed at the end of the day after hwsb was already over. oh well. i gotta take a look at it this weekend. Good call Ron. Thanks

I raced twice at Loudon and they have a ceremony (in the garages) with trophy presentation at the end of the day (it's a plaque), it's fun to get recognized and talk smack with your fellow racers.
In the Mid-Atlantic series you just hope you get to the "office" before they lock-up and go (plaques also)

I think this is a great idea. I have only been a part of one podium ceremony type thing for Team Challenge. It was the highlight of my season for my Family and Friends even if the result was changed after the ceremony. Sure, it would take time, however, I think it would be time well invested. Trophies or even plaques down to 5th would also be good, I agree that it would possibly increase the grid size.

I agree.  I raced in my club's Challenge series last season, and got to stand on the podium (an actual ceremony) a couple times.  We also handed out real trophies. It was especially cool having my wife and little girls there to see me on the box. Sidenote- I always give my trophies to my little kids, and this season in CCS, I earned a couple plaques.  Brought em' home and gave them to my 3 year old, who said, "That's not a trophy, Daddy- it's a picture!"
