Paddock personality, Crew chief, mentor, racer, track day junkie, sportbike afficianado, son, brother, father and best friend Greg "BamBam" Walker succumbed today to injuries he suffered due to complications from a diabetic episode. He was surrounded by his family a few very close friends who were at his bedside at a hospital in Landsdowne, Virginia. He had just had a birthday last Thursday. He was 38 years young.

A local to him sportbike forum has set up a series of pages on their site in rememberance of him here: http://www.dcsportbikes.net/forum/showthread.php?t=51678

Greg was a huge influence on many of us in the CCS community. He always had a kind word or helpful bit of advice for newer riders based on some of the experiences he had during all of his time on motorcycles. He was personally responsible for helping me achieve many of the goals I set for myself on the racetrack over the past few years, and it was one hell of a great ride.

I will miss you as I would miss one of my own brothers, Bam.

Services for Greg will be on Tuesday, September 15th, at Penninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd, Newport News Virginia 23601. Viewing from 12:00 noon until 2:30. There will be a funeral at the funeral home at 3:00 pm with a burial to follow immediately afterwards at a nearby cemetary. Please send flowers. I am working with the family now to develop a donation to Greg's favorite charity now and will post it when I receive that information. There will be a police escorted procession to the burial. Motorcycles riders are encouraged to ride to show support for Greg's love of riding and the large part of his life that it was.

Thank you CCS forum, he will miss you all.

I'm completely heartbroken. Goodbye, brother. I'll never forget you.

I'll always remember him as the guy who would give the shirt off his back to anyone that needed it.  His big smile and sunny personality (not to mention great advice) will be sorely missed.  Prayers to his family & friends.  RIP  BamBam.
Godspeed.
