Finally

Took 12 years.
Broken ankle (XR100), tendinitis surgery (elbow), 2 concussions (both racing) kept me off the bike for about 20,000 miles.

I guess I'm on about the same pace as you....... My 2003 R1100S is sitting at 51,500 after 6 years of riding.

But then again I've probably got a few extra riding days to work with than you do in Wisconsin.
