Hahahahaha...yeah could be why they are yellow.

Ducati 748 is  at MotoCorse Performance. I predict 115 rwhp.

Looks like the Doc is building a hotter motor.

An extinguisher in the hands of an inexperienced person can go to waste very quickly... I'm glad you were able to get off the highway safely. I hate responding to traffic accidents, people will run us over or honk with anger as though we caused the accident.. that's MIAMI for you..

wow. ya we managed it pretty well. im glad it wasnt a huge fire and that the fire dept. didnt have to come. i would imagine that would really frustrate you the way people honk and get angry over you guys. thanks for doin what you do.

i read awhile back that the British wanted to outlaw Private extinguishers because no one knew how to use them, instead of teaching them in school.  of course they want to outlaw glass beer mugs, large kitchen knives pocket knives and even a parachute that attaches to the back of your Cessna that you deploy in case you screw up, because it has an explosive charge in it. i do feel for all the men and women that have to deal with the public on a  daily basis especially in  Miami where lived my first 22 years. my last fire was complicated because the starter was shorted and had no way of cutting the battery cables so it took time to disconnect them at the batteries. the others were mostly fuel fires as a layman I've come to realize it's not the flame but the intense heat that is the problem you don't have enough capacity to cool the surrounding area to stop the fire from reigniting so now i carry an even larger bottle.

People driving by may have thought it was a set up, they pull over to help and the good samaritan gets mugged and thugged and worse.
It's happened more than a few times around here, usually the old flat tire act.
That's a bad reflection on humans, but they are out there and really doing these types of cowardly crimes.
Good to have extinguishers in many locations, 4 in the house, 1 in the trailer, 3 in garage, 1 in the truck.

ya. i never thought of that one. good call. this is off topic but, who is in charge of getting airfence and other safety features up at tracks. CCS? the track? the extent of damage that happened to brad and gus on sunday at pbir just seemed too preventable (which everyone else i'm sure has already thought of) but what can be done?

roadracer162

Stuff happens. I know that Henry have been very conscientious about safety at all the track we go. Incidents have happened before in T10 and the airfence has worked. This one was a little different involving two bikes, high-side and who knows what other kinetic energies involved.

Without walls worse things could happen. With walls bad things can still happen without the wall ever being a part of it. Remember Spies this past year when his bike looped and continued over the wall. Thankfully a spectator wasn't injured by that one.

We as racers do our best to take away the risk and many times so does the promoter or track owner. Not every situation can be prevented so there is EMS. That is one thing that we shouldn't cut corners on. For each seriously injured rider there is usually about 6-7 EMT/PM there assisting that one person on public roads. On a race-track there can be multiple riders seriously hurt and we don't have the luxury of the multitude until much later. For me, I get to know who the EMT's are during a weekend and make my own decisions from there.
