The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Topeka was awesome!  The bike I shared came fourth in class, due more to the misfortune of others than my own superior riging skills. (cough, cough....)  The team appreciated my ability to endure and has asked me to do the Daytona 8-hour under the lights.  Of course I said yes.  As soon as we got home from Topeka, I busted out the mountain bike and aired up the tires.  Suddenly, I'm in training!
