I was at BHF trying to get a little seat time a couple weeks ago and had my shoulder give out on me.Wonder if anyone's had any history with this.I've crashed on it kike 3 times, last one at Daytona last Oct.Other than a little soreness,it seemd to recover fully,w/o alot of time in pain so no need to go to the doc.During the off season,I would do push-ups with the perfect push-up little doo-hickys,which do put some pressure on but they felt fine and strong,I've not injured either one since, and actually took a break from working out,but on my 5th session,me Scotty Ryan and Roy Heffener and Chrome Dome Hodges were running around together and came into T-7 and my right shouldr just gave out without warning, collapsing me on the tank, had to kinda stand the bike up,but it didn't hurt, just lost all strentgth. It happened 3 times the next two laps so I called it a day.So far it's a little sore but we'll see how she goe's this weekend.I was just wondering if anyone's had this expierience and what happened...thanks.

+1 here, I had that same issue 4 years ago, I went through physical therapy and changed my work out to lighter weights and higher reps. My chest went to my belly but after 2 years off of moto cross and road racing and weight lifting and football I feel fine with no surgery. Getting old kinda sucks.

Remember the shoulder excersizes from school...circular motion trying to fly away?
Grab 5 lb weights and do 5 sets forwards and backwards 12 reps per set. Do not increase weight. lay off the pushups for a while. Pain? Manage with an Nsaid such as Aleve or Advil. Most likely during one of your crashes or maybe multiple times, you partially dislocated your humeral head causing a slight labral tear. Now when you are riding agressively your shoulder joint becomes inflamed and fills with fluid causing additional pressure on the labrum ( a ring of cartilage that holds the humerus inside the shoulder blade much like a retainer clip :)) the extra fluid may cause pain, tenderness or the occasional dislocation under extreme conditions.

The advil should help and the excersizes will only strengthen the muscles and connective tissue srrounding the joint space. If you indeed have a labral tear than your long term course or plan would be arthroscopic surgery to repair the damage and to clean up any loose particles.

Lastly, I recommend supplimenting with targeted joint and muscle nutrients and stay hydrated.

Check Deltoids, mine were crushed and it's a 24-7 thing, loss of lube.
Now my cheapskate nephew suspects he may have damaged his a few years ago racing his dirt bike.
He just graduated from med school, but is waiting until he gets his residency for a free ride.
I think that's a mistake, soon as possible etc.
