I cant believe speed channel interupted the live AMA 600 cc race to show highlights on NASCAR SH%T.

if they just showed the results then fine. We gotta listen to yada yada yada this guys that guys every guy... They keep saying "back to AMA SS shortly" then cut back to the race after it was finished. They did not even get to show the race results, only the point standings...

Somebody compile a list of advertisers who appeared in that NASCAR special. I vow to never buy ANY of their product EVER again

Well, the article on Speed's website doesn't exactly match the interview they gave to Roadracing World.  In their interview it was admitted that the situation was an anomaly due to the race being rained out Saturday evening.  However, they basically said the pre-empt was justified because the NASCAR post-race show was also a live event.  They also indicated that, while it's understandable that people were upset, there's no guarantee that it wouldn't happen again.

What really bugged me was how they cut back to the AMA race just as they announced who the winner was.  For some stupid reason I was hoping they'd cut back and pick up where they left off so I fast forwarded the TIVO only to have the outcome ruined.  If only they would have just skipped the last few minutes as well I could have watched the whole race later on without knowing who won.

And to keep this on topic for CCS  ;)  I was visiting Florida a few weeks ago and went out to Moroso on Sunday to watch the CCS racing there.  I was just as upset when the idiot race announcer felt it necessary to tell us all the outcome of that weekend's WSB and MotoGP races.  Jerk!

Write/e-mail the AMA, the sponsors that support Speed, your cable provider and anypone else you can think of to voice your concerns. We are the true supporters of racing; the viewers. We can make a difference, but not if they (Speed) think we will take it and ask for more. >:(
