My first CCS w/e after 4yrs.............Photo info too!

Hello all!

This past weekend was my first CCS trip since Daytona in '05. Man, Ive had my share of bad weeks in my life but this past week had to be the worst in awhile. Last Easter w/e I dropped off my bike (GSXR750) to get some dyno/map tuning work done, Sunday evening I get a call that my motor doesnt sound too good and he wont run it nor did he have the time to open her up but says it might be my CCT (problem #1).

I go pick her up on Monday morning bring her home to figure out my next move, on the way home my strap loosens up less than a mile away from my house and plop....broken upper stay and fender. (p#2)

I get a hold of an old riding buddy who works at a dealership in Middletown, NY, he clears it with the boss and tells me to bring her up. They're the only place I know that is open on Mondays, I run her up but they cant get to it til Tuesday.....great. Thinking ahead, I go ahead and order a manual CCT from Orient Express and overnight it to the dealership knowing they dont stock one. Tuesday noon comes around and my buddy tells me they installed the manual CCT but it's still making noise, great it's not the CCT. A cpl more hrs and nada they didnt have time to open her up thoroughly to look for problem, as is, they bumped me to the front for a half day. My buddy brings it back home with him, which is closer to me and I pick her up that night. (P#3)

On Wednesday, I get a call to run my bike up to a friend of a friends home who is an ace bike mechanic on the side. The guy used to race in LRRS and wrench on his own GSXR's for years so this was my last ditch effort to get her fixed for my big return to a CCS w/e...lol....inside of an hr he found the problem. I had a broken valve, bad news was he had to order one so no bike. I had already canceled my race practice and races so I was already prepared not to ride this w/e but decided I was gonna go anyway.

So now it's Friday morning, my friends went through the effort of bringing down a spare bike for me and talked me into having some fun and to at least run the trackday. I had missed half of the first session due to my hem and hawing if I wanted to ride, getting tech'ed, geared up only to bin my friends bike barely into the 2nd or 3rd lap of the second session. I broke my record in having the shortest ride time at the track in 8 yrs. There also goes my 5yr streak of keeping them upright. LOL! (p#4)

Luckily, I didnt break anything so Im thankful for that.

Anyhow, two good things came out of this w/e, 1) got to meet some new friendly faces and 2) CCS gave me the opportunity to photograph my first real race weekend, MotoGP aint got nuttin on CCS!!!

My weekend was great! I sold my 05 GSXR racebike to Frank! LOL, although now its slightly "used" with "normal" race bike "dings" : )
