I've thought of a way for people to participate in the raffle, who are unable to attend the races...

Make a donation to the Fisher House through Patriot Racing - http://www.active.com/donate/teamfisherhouse/patriotracing

As long as you do not make an anonymous donation, I will receive an email with your contact information and the amount of your donation

I will then register the appropriate number of raffle tickets to you and then send you those tickets

Easy!

Remember, you do NOT have to be present at the drawing to win and
every cent raised through this raffle will be donated to the Fisher House!

This is a great way to have a meaningful impact to the good for our military families and put yourself in the running for some sweet gear!

Please consider participating....

Thank-you

I would like to thank everyone who donated / bought raffle tickets over the weekend at CMP.
We raised $555 plus additional pledges by Frank Ortisi and Calvin Martinez

Frank was one of the event photographers and he pledged to donate 10% of all sales from the race weekend to the Fisher House.
Go check out his work and buy some pics at:
www.fortisi.zenfolio.com

Calvin Martinez, with Wisconsin Racing, pledged to donate all race winnings earned from the Team Challenge to the Fisher House as well.

The upcoming ASRA race event at Summit Point will also be the first of 3 hospitality events we are organizing for this year.
We will host 25 combat-wounded veterans from Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC on Sunday May 24.
Our plans are to provide them with lunch and with a goody bag of donated items from several of our sponsors and others within the racing community.
Please make a point to visit our pit area and thank these men and women for their service and their sacrifice.

We are well on our way toward achieving our goal of raising $10,000 for the Fisher House.
I can't thank you all enough for your generosity and commitment.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all at Summit.
If you have any questions, please contact me at - steve176@patriotracing.us

Best,
Steve

UPDATE:

I spoke with Walter Reed earlier this week.
We are already at 100% capacity for our hospitality event (25) - with a waiting list!
The event planning responsibilities for this are keeping me up at night!
Thankfully, I have a good group of people who have come forward to help me make this a great event.

We are planning on setting up 2 sites to host our guests.
1 in the paddock area in the Patriot Racing pit area
We will be set-up next to the Pirelli truck - Thanks, Rich!

The 2nd will be set up under a tent (or series of EZ ups...) in the Carousel
This is going to be the primary location - we will provide lunch for them here and have them set-up in a prime race-viewing location

We are working to secure UTVs / golf carts to ferry them between the sites and to facilitate their movement around the track in general.
Other loose ends are being attacked as I type
We should have everything dialed in within the next week or so
Then I can get some sleep and focus my attention on racing!

I encourage you all to factor in some time to visit the tent outside of Turn 8 and thank these brave men and women.
They have been slugging it out in Iraq and Afghanistan while we're trying to figure out how we're going to pay for another set of tires...

Best,
Steve

Our first "Race to Recovery" at Summit Point over Memorial Day weekend was a resounding success!
We hosted a group of veterans from Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Sunday and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.  Many of you made a point to visit with them and I appreciate you all for taking time out of your busy day to welcome them.

We raised $925 for the Fisher House over the course of the race weekend.
I am in the middle of getting the donations processed, but this puts us over $3100 and well on our way toward reaching our $10,000 goal.

This raffle will continue through the upcoming race weekend at VIR and up to the lunch-time drawing at Summit on July 5.
I am touched by your generosity and compassion.
Let continue to do what we can to help our military families.

I want to personally thank Speedcell-Full Spectrum Power, Innovative Motorcycle Research, RnR Cycles, CCS, Summit Point, Chicken Out, Chick-fil-A, Walmart, Twigg Cycles, Gladhill Tractor, Harvey Hottel, Joe Rocket, ScorpionEXO, Spyder Leatherworks and the Washington Capitals for your help in making this Race to Recovery such a success.
I could not have accomplished this without your help and support.

Semper Fi,
Steve

TO CLARIFY.....

The raffle items will be awarded in mass, not as individual items
Just as in The Highlander, there will be only 1 winner

You've got until the lunch break of the July 5 race events at Summit Point to buy your lucky ticket and make a donation to the Fisher House.

Best,
Steve

Our first Race to Recovery was a great success.
Tara Lemieux of Lemieux Productions was able to capture the event and our efforts to connect with our combat-wounded veterans.
I couldn't be happier with the final product she put together.
We're working hard to make our next event on July 5 even better.

We're gearing up for our second Race to Recovery
On Sunday, July 5, we are expecting 25 Wounded Warriors to join us in the paddock
The primary hospitality site will be in between the sandwich shop and OG Racing
We are trying to make "VIP Passes" for our guests so that they will be more easily recognizable to you.
Make it a point to visit with them at some point of the day - they really enjoyed talking with racers during their last visit

See you all at Summit!

Congratulations to Andy Young for winning the Road Race Prep.com raffle!

We had a fantastic weekend on and off the track.  A large contingent of soldiers spent Sunday afternoon with us and had a great time by all accounts.  I've got to extend a huge thank-you to the Mid-Atlantic Road Race club for providing food and shirts to the vets as well as opening their corner-worker towers to them and working with CCS race staff to get them out on the track for a parade lap!
Hooters, RnR Cycles, Harvey Hottel and Freestate Copier also played a big role in making this Race to Recovery event such a success.

We also raised another $447 for the Fisher House.
THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to help support our military families.
CCS racers have donated over $2100 since we initiated this raffle at CMP in April.
That is really something we can all be proud of - you guys rock!

When I opened my email this morning, Sgt. Tonya Day sent me the following email.
It is a heartwarming message and yet sobering dose of perspective.

---------------------------------

Hello,
I wanted to Thank You and everyone else that was at the race track in Summit Point today. Everyone of us had a really great time. We all talked about it on the ride home.
I know sometimes people do not take the time to say Thank You. I just felt like I needed to tell someone and I found your email.
I have been back in the states for two weeks. I was stationed in Mosul, Iraq. I am so happy to be home and safe. It is so nice to have things to do that help you get your mind off of things. Some of the soldiers there today are like me, they did not get wounded but are sick. I can promise you it means the world to me that I was treated the same with out any questions. I am having decompression surgery of the brain on the 15Th. Keeping my mind busy and not worrying has been a great help.
Again, THANK YOU!!!!

Thank you Steve, for doing all of this. I know there where others involved with setting things up. Thanks to everyone involved. I spoke to a few of the Warriors first hand, they were over-the-moon that someone thought of this for them, and said they are going to come visit us at the track again. They even told me I was nuts for doing this sport! I'm proud of that, when I think they are my hero's for sacrificing so much for our freedom. If it where not for them I would not be racing!
