Yeah, that's the plan.  We were supposed to have 6 inches, but ended up with nothing.  All ended up by you and Chicago.  Might get up to 50 Wednesday or something.

I finally sold the 996 motor. 1400 bucks. Nice, low mileage, solid motor, with about 1500.00 worth of flywheel, pulleys, and cam-degreeing work in it. It'll probably run forever if it's maintained properly.

And what will I do with the money?

2 sets of tires, which I will use up my first weekend, and several spare sprockets, which will last me maybe half the season. That's it. I've traded away a tangible asset (hell, a working, technologically advanced, mechanical piece of art, from an icon of a motorcycle, no less) at a bargain-basement price, for consumables which will quickly evaporate into the ether.

Someone shoot me, please.

And, please, please, PLEASE, stay away from the track, so this never happens to you.

This all seems normal to me  LOL

I think he should get two more credit cards.  One to buy more stuff, and the other one for "hopscotch"...where you use one card to pay off the other with a balance transfer.

I'm not advocating it.  But it has been done.  Along with selling capital items for tires...and selling other bodily fluids...LOL!

Well, you've got a point there
Now that you mention it, I might be able to get a few races worth of tires for a kidney.
Hmmmm......

Well, you could be spending your money and time on knitting scarves for polar bears, living on melting glaciers, in South America.
Never interrupt your opponent while he's making a mistake.

Racing is, in fact stupid. (we all know the downsides and yet we still continue to do it)

It's high risk, unnecessary risk. Broken bones, severe permanent injury... can happen any time with or without fault.
It's expensive, more expensive than most hard drug/alcohol habits and has a similar effect on work, family and relationships.
It's hard work, with very little reward. As a matter of fact, it seems the smaller the reward, the harder the work! Spending 40k or more for a piece of $2 plastic or wood is not uncommon here.

On the plus side, it is what you make of it, entirely. It can be more or less expensive and only you decide how much to throw at it.

It's also a great teacher of personal responsibility and self control... which some learn faster than others.

Now that that's out of the way, let's go racing. =)

... carry on...
