Press release

My name is Brett Ray and I started R&R Racing in 1991 and have done very well thanks to you, my customers. I have made so many friends and had so much fun over the last 20 years I consider myself to be very lucky, and I am very thankful for what I have. Most of all my 8 year old son Brandon, who is pitching in on this because he wants to help people with less than him.

So I started thinking, with the economy being the way it is, people all over are losing their jobs and in some cases their house, car or everything, surely I could do something. There are a lot of people having a real hard time right now through no fault of their own. This is supposed to be the season to be thankful and a time of giving.

Now I am in no way rich, so there is only so much I can do on my own, that's where you come in.

Every year I get lots of proposals form racers wanting sponsorship trying to save some money. Racing is expensive and I always try to help a few out. This year I am going about it in a different way. I am going to try to help some people out but hopefully people that really need it. Now lets face it guys if you are racing motorcycles you are not hurting to bad. Now I know some of you think you are just getting by, but what I mean is your not wondering where you are going to live. Or you're not worried how you are going to feed your kids, or how to buy them a coat so they stay warm this winter. If you are then you better stop racing for a while and get your priorities straight. There are some people who really need our help.

So here is my "proposal" to you.

If you were planning on buying a new stand, subframe, fairing bracket or bodywork for the up coming season, now is the time. From now until the end of December I will give discounts of $10, $25, $50 or maybe more if you do a small thing for me.

If you would go to a homeless shelter and donate some food or maybe an old coat you don't wear anymore or some children's clothes or blankets. Or you could donate a toy to toys for tots. If you don't where you can help contact a local church. They always have food drives or something this time of the year. You would be surprised at the happiness you could bring to someone with a small thing. I wouldn't recommend something like the Salvation Army because they take your stuff and then sell it. We don't need some corporation making money off of this.

Now what I need is if you can, get a receipt for your donation take a picture and e-mail me a copy. If you can't or they don't give receipts or if you just help someone on the street please snap a picture and e-mail that to me. I will post the pictures on the web site.

The discounts will be something like this.

For as little as a couple of cans of food I will take $10 off any product.

For an old coat or a box of clothes, $25 off of stands, fairing brackets, subframes or bodywork.

Throw in a few toys "new preferably" but not necessary and that will go to $50 or more.

You need to give me a call and tell me what you need and what you are going to donate. Then we can set a price. If you need a few items this could really rack up some savings for you. Talk to some other companies you deal with and lets see if  we can get them on board and make it even bigger.
I hope this works out and together we can make this a better Christmas for some who really need it.

Like the saying goes "the only time you should look down on someone, is to give them a hand up"

Thank you and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Just because you have something to say
Doesn't always mean you "SHOULD" say it

Good idea. I'll sticky this for a week so that you get a bit more exposure.

Good luck!  :thumb: Let's help some folks out this holiday season.

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Thank you.
I have only had a few take me up on it so far. But I have had more that said they didn't need anything but it motivated them to do something anyway. If it does just that and no one buys a thing from me I'm fine with that.

One guy said he would give some food for a discount, then he donated 2 big Turkeys to a shelter just to get $10 off of a $25 exhaust bracket. I though he would maybe give a couple of cans of corn or something, but when he showed me that I just gave him the bracket.
