Can someone email me a pre-entry form for the April event at Road America?  I was told this is a different form and can't locate it online.

There is a different form I got it in the mail...I just used the regular form and they took it...I think they charged me like $600!

Man I just realized I better be in good shape for that weekend...2 GT's and 8 Sprints!

Check the website under the "daytona" link... it's buried in there.
CCS AM 815... or was that 158?

OmniGLH

I looked... I still can't find it.

I don't feel too comfortable filling out the wrong one and blindly sending it in, as I want to know how much I'm going to be charged first.  I can't afford to throw down $600 in entry fees.  My current budget only allows me to run 2-3 classes a weekend, on a normal pricing structure.

As I understand it, the pricing structure is different for the RA event, right?  First class is $70, every other class is $50?  But since it's a twin-sprint weekend, each class is actually $100, right?  Because I have to pay for each entry?

I guess if somebody can just tell me what it'll run me to pre-register for the following, then I'll fill out a form and send it in with a total on the bottom.

I'm sorry, Jim - looks like they updated the website from when I last was there.... my bad. :-[

RA entry fees work as follows:

Pre-Entry (before April 11):

Non-purse classes:  $70 for the first, $55 for each additional.

Purse classes:  $70 each.

$35 3-day gate fee is not included.

Does that help you?  See you in HWSS - just smile as you go by!

Okay but how does it work with the "twin sprint" thing?

$55/class non-purse, $70/class for purse.  Ok.

But a "twin sprint" means that there are 2 of each class, right?  So say I enter HWSS - I'll actually be racing TWICE, right?  So do I have to pay $110 for HWSS, or does the $55 get me on the track for both instances of the class?

And since it's called twin "sprints" - I'm assuming the only races run twice will be the 5-lappers, right?  GTO will NOT be run twice?

Ummmm, not exactly.

HWSS x 2 = $70+55, or $125
ULGP x 2 = $70+70, or $140
GTO x 1 = $70.

To run the above, it will be $335.  I'm 99% sure of this.  Will know for certain when my credit card bill arrives in the next few days.

Call me - maybe I can 'splain it better over the phone.  (847) 644-4495.

HOLY SH*T!!!!  $540?!?!  If it's going to cost me anything near that to register... then it looks like I'll just sit this one out and pit for DanO instead.

Golly gee it sure would be nice if somebody from CCS would chime in here and explain the pricing structure...

Kimmy I'd have called ya but I'm at work and my phone is stuck on a conference bridge.  I'll give ya a call tomorrow when I wake up.

I registered for HWSS and SuperTwins for both days... was something like $235 according to my calculations.

I want to run GTO and ULGP that weekend as well, but dang!   ::) :o  These twin sprint weekends are going to be real bank-busters.

Oh well... I guess this makes up for a lifetime of not having hobbies.

Jim - did you see my post on CLSB?  We've got an IT position open in Deerfield....

Yeah I saw the post, thanks for the info.

I don't know that I'm willing to drive over 50 miles each way to work tho.  That's a long way, a lot of miles, and a lot of $$$ spent on gas.  Plus, with rush hour it'd probably take me close to 2 hours to get to/from work every day!

OK call me cheap but isnt this getting expensive?

Steviebee

OmniGLH.  that was for 9 races. 3 of which are purse paying ones.

the price is 70$ for purse paying races.
And for non-purse its 70,50,35 and then 35 for each additional race.
Something like that.

Its $70 for purse paying races is right,
For non purse, $70 for the first and $55 for each additional one at RA.

Make sure you call and get a confirmation number for Road America.  I called for a friend of mine and they said they didn't have it but his credit card was charged.  I just hope he doesn't get a shitty grid position now.

OmniGLH

Ya I'll be calling them today.

According to DanO, who registered for RA a few weeks ago, the pricing structure is very different from what was explained here (he actually managed to get ahold of someone when he called down there and Tiffany explained it to him.)

According to Dan (which is according to Tiffany) the pricing structure is as follows:

First entry (money or non-money class):  $70
All other (money or non-money class): $55

He calculated his charges based on this, and they matched what he was charged on his CC.  He confirmed his entry with Tiffany.

So those of you whose charges match up with what Kim posted may want to give CCS a call and get your charges adjusted.  I'm going to call them now and make sure they charged the CORRECT amount, and didn't just run through whatever I had written as a total at the bottom of the sheet.

Brief update...

Just called CCS.  They're having computer system troubles, so she can't look up my pre-reg that I faxed over yesterday.  She is going to call me back.

BUT

She did explain the pricing structure.  It's as I described above.

$70 first entry
$55 all subsequent entries

Does not matter if they are money classes or not.

So some of you may want to check your charges, just to be sure.
Jim "Porcelain" Ptak

KBOlsen

Hmm... it doesn't sound right (why would a second purse class be only $55 for this event when it's $70 everywhere else)... but less $ is always better!
CCS AM 815... or was that 158?

OmniGLH

Okay just got a call back from CCS to confirm the pricing.

I registered for the following, and was charged accordingly:

GTO - $70
ULGP - $55 x 2
HWSS - $55 x 2

Grand total of $290.

Kim you may want to double-check your numbers and make sure your CC matches the pricing above.
