You have got to be shitting me. That is not jchaplin 's or Jason's fault. It is that other riders fault. I cannot believe he would say its Jason's fault. Jason was in front of him and had the line.

I hate bone heads! That's is a classic novice torpedo move!   :banghead:

Hocky never catches a break either. He was punted too I see. Glad to see he was ok. It was an amateur that punted him as well. That guy is fast from what I remember.  :banghead:

Yeah I totaly agree.... Like I said I did not know what happened until I got back to the pits..... I got a great start and was focusing on the line a wammmmooooo I am down and out... I could have went back out but I had mud on the bike and it was not worth it... I was going to finish dead last and I am not chasing points or anything so... I also did not know what was wrong with the bike and in my mind it is not worth bringing stuff out on the track and risking someones else life or race...  Just wish everyone else thought this way... What really kills me is the fact that some of these guys actually risk it all for a wooden trophy... I really do understand what it means to win but you really have to  step back a min a understand that WE ALL have each and everyones life , dreams, and destiny in our hands when we are on the track together.. One stupid ass move like that squid pulled could have costed Jason Cook his leg or arm or the ultimate his life... People have to understand that it does not have to take someone to be going 150 mph to get seariuosly hurt or killed.. I again did not know what happened and I just happened to bump into that guy that caused it and he said " I dont know that guy hit me or cut me off " and I just agreed because I had no clue what really happened... The funny thing was that it looked like he was scurrying to pack up.... I do have his email adress so if you want it jason I can give it to you privately if you want to tell him how ya feel... I dont believe in fighting or what have you in these types of sitiuations but I do believe in letting them know how they screwed up so they dont do it again ya know!  Just hurts me more knowing that these squid assholes are actually out there and have no clue what they are doing.... Well heres my advice to them... Go Take a school or something, do some track days, slow down and really understand that this shit can kill you... remember you have each and everyones life in your hands and as much as we all would like to win we really have to understand that sometimes it is not worth risking for that 1st place finish.. accidents happen.... but there is NO and I Mean NO room for stupidity!!!

Well we all know in racing that these things happen and we do it anyway. It will never change. But I am still going to race. Better than doing it on the street and I love the community of good people (for the most part). I have a friend that took out a couple rider a few rounds ago and he felt really bad about doing it. He was to hot in a corner and did the same thing that happened to you. Took out one or two other riders. He took responsibility and total fessed up to to. I would never expect any money from anyone that took me out. Just a simple ... "I am sorry". Come over and say it later in the day and make sure everything is ok. I would do that to the person I took out no matter if they hated me. I would feel bad. I would also see if there was anything I could do to help that guy. Do they need any parts to get racing again. Can I help you with your bike. That kind of thing.

Jchaplin, Jason and Todd, glad you bros are doin okay, and hope the pup is alright as well.  We watched 4 bikes go down in a wet T10 on Sat, and with each lap the survivors were thinning out, so I figured T1 was eatin some as well.  Nothing will ever prevent some new racers from pushing their limits, and all of us face the risk of taking a torpedo, but it is up to us to nurture these bros into better racers, and one of the best ways is to do exactly what you did, let them see your face, hear your voice, and help them learn humility by allowing them to apologize.  They will begin to understand accountability, feel respected when their genuine apology is accepted, and start to listen and learn...in theory, if not CCS may have to spank.  This is a tight family, and once exposed to it, most seem to want the bond of racing, as much as increasing skill and respect.

No Jason I didn't go down.  I got stood up and pushed into the gravel trap.  Looked around, no corner workers heading my way so I took off.  Might be the wrong answer but, it was my call.  I wasn't going to lose all points because of someone else.

I would just like to see what happened.  I don't know if it was a bike or body that slammed into my back and ripped off my transponder.  Just curious.

Whoo hooo!!   I didn't miss it then. I still hopefully get to see you and your bike in all its glory coming back in on the crash truck..   :lmao:

I dont think you've ever crashed yet. I'm always amazed that you can go that fast and not crash when I seem to do it every weekend.  :banghead:

Are you coming to VIR? I should be able to make it up and run around the pits at least. I'm just waiting to get a paycheck again after being off for 4.5 weeks with that broken ankle.

Glad you didn't get it that bad!

Jason: Yep I'll be at VIR.  After the first time being there I have to go back.  The track is great.  No, (knock on wood) I haven't gone down but I know it's a matter of time as the times continue to drop.  I ended up breaking off my shifter lever in turn 3 during the superbike race and ended up pulling off in turn 5.  That sucks too cause I finally got over my fear of turn 3.  Always next year.

JC, trust me, originally I was pissed as all get out but, it does no good.  I was able to pull back out out there and pass a few guys catching up but was a few laps short of what I needed.  The CCS community is one of the best you'll find and until the new guys get out and actually mingle, they treat it as tho it's them against the pits.  I've made more friends racing than anything else.  As for the rider who did it, yea it sucks that they have to lie to feel better about the crash, but hopefully in the end they learned that grabbing the front brake doesn't work...lol  Especially when you're not at the front of the pack.  I know how you feel about your bike.  Mine was good until this last wweekend but, it's just a bike and it can be fixed.  Anyway, glad to hear you're alright.  If you're coming to VIR, see ya there.

Hey James, my name is Mark. We actually met when you came over to talk to my brother Andrew(AM #231) about what had happened during the T1 incident. Now, obviously I wasn't in the race, so I have no idea what exactly happened. And I can't say that even watching the video shows exactly or definitively what happened.

The only thing is, I wish you hadn't made so many assumptions about the situation and then blasted it all over the CCS forums(2 threads I'm seeing right now). You do have his email, I was right there when he gave it to you. You could of settled this privately. I can understand you're pissed about the whole situation, but my brother wouldn't try to crash anyone out. Even if this was 100% his fault, he also wouldn't try to cover his ass by lying to you. I honestly believe that he was telling you the version of the crash as he remembered it. It didn't help that AM#70 came over and spoke to all 3 of us, essentially corroborating the story my brother told us.

Now here's what I do know. Laptimes don't lie, and straight up, my brother would of beaten you this weekend. So I really wish you would stop with all the squid this and squid that, because he knows how to ride. Unfortunately there was an incident and you went down, and honestly, FWIW, I'm sorry about that. I just feel its a little bit of a douche thing to do, rail on him on a forum where he doesn't participate, and essentially would not have had a chance to defend himself(although I imagine he's gonna post up soon).

Mark, I am Jason.  They guy your bro t-boned in turn one.  Yes, it's unfortunate that all this has happened.  But, from the video I saw, you're bro came into turn one on one wheel, and not set up for the turn.  Plain and simple he was on his way down.  Hitting me just brought others into the mix.  As for lap times, I really don't think you want to go there.  If you can't handle a corner and others riding next to you, lap times don't mean squat.  As for clean riding, if he would have been close enough to show me a wheel, I would've gave him the turn and then passed him soon after.  He came in too hot, had no where to go and hit me, which stood me up and into the path of JC.  All he had to do was check up and settle into the turn.  If he's fast, he has no problem leaving all us slow guys behind.  Hindsight is always a little clearer. This ain't a bash fest, but trying to hash out what happened.

Wo wo wo bro.... Listen I did not start this fourm as a bash contest ... I did not start this fourm because I was mad about the wreckl... As I stated several times before I am more than happy that we all walked away safe and unharmed... Screw the bike dude.. I can fix that .... I c ant fix your brothers health nor anyones else... Hope you got my jist here... I did say it alot that I AM NOT PISSED HERE about my bike ... However 1st things 1st... I took your brothers word when I came to him in the pits when he said that it was not his fault and was the other guys fault... now with me being the last one out and the last one knocked down I had no clue what the heck happened... so I took your brothers word for what he said... Then I get home and really see what happen and the video explains it all... maybe you should watch it again.. he came in way to hot and froze up and lost it... Am I mad ..? Hell no... we all make mistakes dude.... its racing... I get that... what had me upset was when I talked with him he blamed someone else for it... Now I will say this...  As far as putting him on blast I do not believe I did that considering the video speaks for itself and is all over u tube...... Now as far as blast goes... I will say that your brother sent me a message and in that message he clearly said he was having quoted exactly " I was having massive brake troubles all day long and I did not enough brakes left to make the turn" ... so let me say this...  If he knew that he was having those types of troubles then why why why why would you even think about racing or better yet racing and being in a really dangerous spot ? or why would you put someone else life in danger knowing you are having a brake problem all day long....???? duhhhhhhh.... I mean is it because you already paid for the race and he did not want to lose the money that he paid in already.... well thats not a good reason... If you knew you were having troubles then why not stay in the back or out of harms way till you know your good to go... I understand that this can happen at any time but if you know before you even go out then that is stupidity dude no way around it bro.........  Now as far as lap times and all this stuff with beating me goes... well if you think so then ok... dont let my posted lap times get to your head... get your fact together before you come at me...  I know my times say 22's 23's and up but that is not my times bro... I switched tire brands , had suspension adjustments to make for the tire switch and some more stuff... You know what dude... I don't really care if your brother was running track records at this point...... and the statement you made about him being a better rider.... well?????? maybe you might want to go up to the video and watch it one more time.... I dont the yellow bike caused the pile up..... Listen dude... all this aside... its over and done with .... we are all supposed to be there for one reason... and that is TO HAVE FUN and this is no fun bitching back and forth...  I say we do this ......   Fix your bothers ride and I will get mine fixed... we meet at vir or summit whenever you want, we shake hands, give each other daps, and battle it out on the track ..... Hey and between me and you... if you think he is so much faster than me then bring some green backs with you and we'll see... I will say this though.... you better not bank on my posted up lap times...  He better be in the teens !!!

Now can we all get along now!!! lol

Hey man, it sounds like you spoke to my brother, so I hope you got it sorted out.

Like I said in my first post, I wasn't there and didn't see it go down. Its just because that's my brother, I can't still idly and see people talk about him. I've got no problems with you(or JC), whatsoever, but at a gut reaction, I had to defend him.

As for the laptimes comment, that was another reactionary comment. Its just that he does know how to ride, and if he did make a mistake, it wasn't that it was for lack of skill or judgement, but honestly I believe, it was just an error. Going in too hot, changing a line, misjudging entry,  whatever it was, those kinds of accidents happen at all levels. Its just that the constant squid comments irked me a little.

In short, I hope its all water under the bridge at this point. We'll undoubtly see each other at the track again, and we all go to the track to have fun, and I definitely dont want to bring any kind of drama there. Drama is for real life and racing is for getting away from that bullshit.

P.S. bro, you gotta start using paragraphs. Ha.

Wise words from a wise man. We are all capable of making really stupid mistakes. Whether it is a learning curve issue or a heat of the moment misjudgement. Just remember, the guy that accidently causes you misfortune one week ,may be loading your trailer for you next time when you make a bonehead move and take yourself out. I am new to this community but I have to say it is the tightest bunch of folks I ever met. Feelings will always get hurt in any competitive environment. Apologize if you were wrong (or even if someone thinks you were) and move on to the next bit of fun.
