Do or do not, there is no "try".

Congratulations Dave!!

I was able to find a picture of you with the bike you won.  Do you have a photo of you and the bike with your helmet off that you can send me?

Jeff, wouldn't that make a great item to put up for bid at the Red Flag auction?

Yeah, it's kind of interesting that they do not specify what Honda motorcycle he won... :) Congrats Dave!

Don't give up on your dreams! If an illiterate like K3 can write a book, imagine what you can do!

Hey, thanks, everyone.  Didn't expect this thread, honestly.  Track record, some injuries.  Nice job, and heal well to everyone.

I won the drawing for the bike, and then I even got drawn for a helmet too.  Not sure how that happened, but it was kind of funny and strange all at the same time.  The whole gig is about the Stars, the pediatric cancer survivors, and it kind of feels strange to have a little thunder, but if it helps, I'm in!

Bike's a 2008 Honda 250 Rebel.  Don't have it yet.  Will have to pay taxes on it, and I'm looking to figure out a way to sell it to get the money back into the pediatric cancer programs.  So, I'll have a brand new bike for sale in the future.

Honda is generous enough to give away 37 Honda Rebel's and I think they have three other bigger models that they give away at the Rides that bring in the most money.

Thanks everyone for supporting the cause!!!!

Dave, see if you can work with a dealer for them to just make a donation back to the cancer fund.  It'll save you the taxes, be great PR for them and possibly work out well...

It's not that easy.  The dealer doesn't own the bike, Honda does.  So, it's a bit more complicated for someone that wants to just put the money back in.  I just got back home today with Scotty from our school on Monday, so I still haven't had time to completely digest anything or call anyone.

Certainly, to Honda, it has a manufactured cost, so even if I pay taxes, I would probably would benefit the cancer programs more by selling it outright.  Don't know my options yet, but I do have ideas.
