Track Records on Motorcycles?

I'm trying to put together a list of Track Records across the country.  Who, where, when, on what bike etc.

Does anybody have documented EXACT records about this?  I know at Roebling Road, for instance, someone scribbled - on the wall in the scoring room, no less ::)  - the date and time/speed that Steve Grigg broke the track record on a motorcycle ~during a race~ (practice doesn't count).

T'would be interesting ... plus there ought to be an award for breaking a track speed record.

Who's the fastest at your favorite track?

I can send you the list for the 2001 season for all the classes in the south central. email me your address and I will drop a copy in the mail to you or fax it to you. blockworks@yahoo.com

A few issues of Roadracing World ago, they had a long list.  Email RRW and ask them what issue it was.  There is also a website somwhere that was pretty comprehensive but I can't seem to find it.  If I can I will post for you.

Thanks, Zanyeights! I found it fairly easy.

Everybody take a look at this Roadracing World Article dated April 2001 for the year 2000:

http://venus.13x.com/roadracingworld/issues/apr01/records.htm

Are all of these still correct?

Looks like records need to be established (and or found) for:
BLACKHAWK - new course
LAS VEGAS

One CCS track I don't see on this list is:
STREETS OF WILLOW SPRINGS (I think that's different than just Willow Springs)

And, MID-AMERICA MOTORPLEX is a brand new track, so new records will be established there this year.

And so is NORTH FLORIDA.

Any others?

You might want to check that moroso record I thought it was Rich Oliver doing a 1:15 something on a Team Roberts YZR 500 back around 1990 or 91.

Please don't hold me to that I have drank lots beer since then. ;D ;D
Damn I'm slow

Huge Industries rider Vincent Haskovik still holds the Laguna record, I think.  Mark Ladesma holds the Firebird East record.  I don't have times or dates, sorry, just some useless info.

I have heard (unoffically) that Mark Ledesma has run a 1:00.5 at Firebird East.  I personally saw him running some 1:01 flats last time out.  What is needed to get official times?

AMA uses electronic timing.  Mark might be out at the trackday this Sun.  Can't wait!  It'll be 80 degrees all day!  I think Haugo could take the record this year.  He's so fast he uses me as a braking marker.  Then again, so does Ladesma, Haskovik, and pretty much everyone else out there.  LOL.

Yeah, I had to save my money for vegas races next weekend but plan to go out and watch some on Sunday.  I'll probably see you there, what's your bike look like?  Of course we may have met already, I bought Mark's (Huge Industries) old ZX6.

Brett

Oliver went a 1:19.00 at Moroso.

I'll be on a blue R1 street bike.  (I know that really doesn't narrow it down.)  I'll be there with Mark.  I think I already met you.  I was racing on that zx-6 last year when you were talking about buying it.  I may also be riding a 900RR and Jack's SV.  He wants me to do some team challenges with him sometime this year and that's the bike we'll use.  I'm leaving for the track right now! see you there!
(I love leaving for a day at the track. AHHHHH.)
