Dogs at MAM

Before I send the wrong message to all pet owners, I have a dog and absolutely love animals.  This weekend at MAM was an experience that I could have lived with out. 

I was over talking with a fellow racer at his pit when the dog from the racer parked next to my friend came from no where ( on a 20 ft chain) clamped down on the back of my leg.  Please keep in mind that I had been standing in the same spot for the better part of 5 minutes before the dog bit me.  Lucky enough the dog let loose just breaking my skin thru my suit bruising me leg pretty good.

What was more disappointing was the feeback that I received from the pet owner when I approached him.  He seemd somewhat irritated that was asking if the dog had shots which were all good( by three days).  His explanation was that the dog didn't like bycles which I guess still fascinates me why would you bring dogs to a track and ties them up let alone one that doesn't like bikes.

If a dog doesnt like bicycles, then leave the dog home. Hell if a dog has issues with anything, leave it home.

A little off the subject but how was the turn out and weather at MAM?  We are five hours away and kept watching the weather which looked like it was going to be raining by noon on Sunday with terrible storms to follow.  We did get pounded by bad weather here later on Sunday, though.

It sounds like the weatherman screwed up again!

I thought the fact the there was somone selling dog there.  They had about 12 puppies, and about 6 full size dogs.  They rolled in with a serious kennel rig.  Crazy. 

sorry about your experience.  We bring our little boston terrier with us and we love having her there.  I hope jerk like that dont ruin it for all of us.

I guess the guy with all the Labs had a son racing and was there to watch.  A lot of people where worried on Sunday as hot as it got and no one ever saw him giving them water.  A gal from registration came over and had a talk with him, and it turns out she was a Vet, so I guess he finally decided to water them.

I get a kick out of all the characters in the paddock, and their "best friends" add to that.  Hopefully anyone with a problem dog will leave it at home in the future so as to not ruin it for the dogs that behave.

BTW Dustyn, Lula was awesome.  I loved how she barked at my wife and warmed right up to me.  My wife heard about that the whole way home!  LOL!

I love dogs but leave them at home if they have issues.  I want to say the dog was a weimaraner.

The dude with the rolling kennel parked right smack in front of us.  I got so tired of hearing those dogs bark all day. 

For once it did not rain on race day at MAM.  The track has got a lot bumpier of the last year also.
