The sealant must be a new addition.  I stopped by a few weekends ago when cars were running and the track looked good.

No it isn't.  I was there for the first track day after the repave and the track was great.  By the second one there were  a lot of cars on the track and there was sealant all through turn 1 and starting between 5-6 going half way through to 7.  They repaved 5-7 but the sealant is still in turn one.  It is a thin layer so maybe you missed it.  But a thin layer is just enough to remove all the pavement bumps that would have been traction.  Those groves are all filled in and the apex is slick.

I didn't think the old pavement needed to be refreshed especially not in a half assed way.
