hi i'm wondering if eating a nice big mexican dinner with lots of beans the day before a race will help or hurt performance?

i would think that it would help since the gas in the rider's bowels might make him a little lighter and the additional thrust from farting would help on the straightaways but it could be harmful too because the gas cramping could affect body position which could slow the rider down.

also it could be more dangerous during refueling

what do you all think?

I think with or without the mexican food you'd be full of shit.
Unless you ate a bunch of fiber 24hrs prior to your races. :p

If you could find a viable solution to route your personal "emissions" into the intake it would probably work like a dry shot of nitrous. Timing would be the key though. Last thing you want is to let one rip before you apex. Instant low side. I suppose you could use a reservoir system triggered by a wide open throttle micro switch. Then you could bust out at will and still have control over power delivery. What is the octane rating of refried beans anyway? Cabbage might be better but I think that should be restricted to Isle of Mann.

It might help, but it's probably not SuperSport legal - check the rules to be sure.

There is this little Mexican joint on Rt.2 that we sometimes hit when we leave from BHF... The place rocks - But I don't suggest eating any sort of Mexican food if you plan on getting back on the track within the next 24hrs.... But then again - we are going to have new facilities to try out at the Farm this season :)

Beans, beans, the musical fruit.  The more you eat, the more you toot.  Just don't light a match while you're doing it.
