I don't know a single thing about sewing, so I thought I'd ask here. If you're having patches sewn onto perforated leathers, can you have them sewn through those holes so they don't need to go through the leather or do they just sew them on normally? Is there any way to get patches and nameplates sewn on that won't look shitty if you take them off or are there pretty much going to be holes left? Is there any adhesive-type stuff that would be used in place of stitchwork? I probably should have just emailed Spyderchick but I'm sure some of you have some experience with this.

Thanks

You should have emailed Spyderchick. ;)

Adhesives that will allow the patch to stay put will damage the finish of the leather when they are removed. If you plan to remove any patches in the future, we do not recommend using glue to attach them.

You can actually sew the the patches on yourself by hand on perfed leathers. Get a sturdier upholstery needle and 'whip stitch' the patch in place using the holes perf provides. It won't be the most elegant solution, but it's probably the best if you want no evidence left behind.

Machine sewing does leave holes. They are less noticeable are darker colors, and more noticeable on lighter ones, mostly because dirt and grime work their way into the punctures.

Let me know if you need anything!

Industrial strength stuff does. But again, the adhesive will wreck the finish on the leathers. ;)
