Help interpreting a crash video

What ended up happneing to your leg that you couldn't continue if you don't mind me asking?

Deep soft tissue damage, large hematoma (pooling of blood) in/under the right quadriceps, and bone bruise.  There might be a hairline fracture of the femur, but the docs at Daytona weren't sure.  I sent the x-rays to my orthopaedist and he thinks that there's minor bone damage, but that nothing can be done for it besides rest anyway even if it is real.  I also had a venus doppler to rule out DVT or any embolyic issues, so fortunately that was negative, but they weren't sure so it was a precaution.

Besides pain, the result was that I couldn't (still can't to a degree) bend that leg (so imagine trying to get it up on a rearset, let alone hanging off to the right).  The pain wasn't the problem - the leg simply wouldn't physically bend.  I had to drop the rearsets as much as possible to even get back on the bike for Sunday AM practice, and then I had to grab my right leg and with the help of a friend bend it with my arms to get it on the bike.  I couldn't hang off to the right at all.  After two slow laps, I gave up, because even if I continued it wouldn't have been safe.

I don't think anyone is saying you did anything wrong... at least from the video to me, it looks like an OK racing line.   If he had been following you for 4 laps and you always took that line, then he should of known better.  If you had been taking a different line each time, I could see how he might be confused.

Do what the Navy does.  Take a whole bunch of Motrin 800mg.  That cures everything, as far as the Navy is concern.
