So I've already signed up for the Team Hammer practice day but I'm wondering if it'd be worth switching to the advanced riding school?

Any comments?

FWIW: I've never ridden at Daytona.

it depends on your cofidence level and if you can buddy up with somebody otherwise do the school

I rode Daytona this spring for the first time. I did the open practice, not the school. My advice would be to skip the school and use the time to learn the track on your own.

To be honest, there is so many people in the school it is hard to get any real instruction, If you have a good amount of track experience the school will just hold you up.  Sure the banking is crazy but if you stay low on it the first session you will have no problem getting up to speed, I say go for the track ride.  I think they require some sort of school certificate to do the track ride, don't rember for sure.

I've done it twice now. I did the open practice, but have had friends do the school; we collectively decided "if you have track experience and are confident enough to tackle Daytona," you will have a better time doing the open practice. I will say however, that the organization of two days that I did were a mess. Get there EARLY!

Chuck - Remember: Chicane = drive to the finish line.... After you get use to the banking it's like your going straight and everything else is on an angle..... T1 is deceptive - you can hold the throttle longer then you think :) We can talk more in person - at the track
