I hope I am ok posting this.  I just had a short conversation with Anthony Dean(APP Racing on here) and forgot to ask his permission to post this, but rather than bother him at this time, I'll just hope this is ok.  My apologies if its not.

As many of you know, Anthony and his wife Paula have been expecting their first child in December.  Paula went in to labor yesterday which is 7 weeks early.  They have been able to stop the contractions, but she will be on bed rest from here on out.  Every day and week that they can delay delivery will help with the babys development.  They are hoping and praying for at least a few more weeks.  Anthony and Paula are both wonderful people, and I know they will appreciate your prayers.

Obviously, Anthony will miss the upcoming race at MAM.

I just went through the same thing this year. My daughter didn't want to stay in mama anymore so she decided to come out 9 weeks too early. She was born a little over 2lbs in July. She came out screaming and kicking. She's had some hiccups along the way but we brought her home just this past saturday and she's doing really good. She is a bit over 6lbs! Tell him to keep positive thoughts and it'll all work out just fine.

I was born about 6 weeks early in '79, in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.  I turned out pretty much ok except for this motorcycle racing stuff!

Thoughts and prayers to the Dean family.

Thanks to everyone for the best wishes and uplifting thoughts.  Sorry I haven't been able to post anything sooner (1 - we didn't know much and 2 - its been a bit tough to keep things going between work and the hospital).

Paula is doing well and just might be able to come home on Saturday for a lot of Bed Rest (6 weeks would be preferred but every 2 helps).  Seems that every 2 weeks baby stays put is a milestone and one more complication for us to not have to worry about.  She is in very good spirits and has even asked how not going to MAM for the end of the year race was going to effect points.  That one made me smile alot.  She is being a real trooper and holding up really well.  I am sure she will need some encouragement after a few weeks in bed though.

Monkey_Star - if she doesn't last the term I would love to chat.  This is all really new to me and any insider info would really be appreciated.

Dr. said I must have been talking about that darn SuperBike Shootout and the baby wanted to take part.  All the nurses just tell Paula she married a crazy man.

Thanks Again!!

Martha and I are thinking of you two.  It was good chatting with you both at Arby's after Hallett.

Many prayers go out to mama and baby right now.

My son was born early too this past Feb.  Wifey went through alot of complications throughout pregnancy, everything turned out ok, 10.8lbs... My advice, stay positive and keep your faith, everything will turn out ok.  Will keep you in my prays.

Well all good news today!  Mom is resting and recovering, Dad is scared to death, and baby is breathing and suckling a little so far.  We have a long way to go before baby can go home but...

At 3:29 pm today, Anthony Joseph Dean Jr was born at  3 lbs, 4 oz and 16 inches.

Thanks to all the heart felt notes and prayers.

Just a quick update.

He is doing very well and has been taken off of the C-Pac, yesterday (that's the little face mask).  So he is breathing room air all on his own (AMAZING).

He is sucking on a Binky but not able to swallow just yet, needs a little therapy for that one.  Seems to move a lot and squirm which is said to be a good sign of you neurological development.

All of the Dr's and the Ped's think he is doing very well considering his age and size.
I think it's the APP Racing Teddy Bear that helps.

We are expecting that Paula will likely come home sometime on Tuesday.  Little AJ will be at the Hospital for several weeks though.

Coming off the c pap was a milestone for my daughter. She did have some bouts with apnia spells but she seems to be over that. Glad to hear that your son is coming along nicely. Congrats!
