Can someone please explain forum Karma/Applauding/Smiting?

What is Karma all about, and why do I have -2? What did I do?

Man, I feel dumb. But I don't see it in the FAQs or Help.

~BTW - I have no idea where my smites come from...I think I am pretty amicable and non confrontational (on here at least)...but it gives me the opportunity to use this guy    ::)... and that makes me giggle...so carry on with the smites if you feel so inclined!

My guess would be the PETAWR people are out to get you!
