I noticed that some of the factory guys have tape wrapped around their fingers and knuckles.  Not nearly as much as a boxer would have.  Any ideas on why they do that?

Do or do not, there is no "try".

hmmm... so much for keeping a relaxed grip on the bars like i was taught.  but at their speeds, i guess you have to.

Depends on the taping, some is to give more support to an injured or weak area.

I don't know about from racing, but when I did gymnasitcs the callouses on hands would build up to a point and then rip off leaving a nasty mess.

Back in 2004,

I saw a Yosh/AMA rider who needed to have his hands wrapped in near the Daytona International Horse Shoe.   :lmao:

Funny you should bring this person up in this thread. He tapes his fingers and his toes. No. Really. He does.
