Howdy,
I sold my 600 and am Doing ULSB/ Lightwieght Races on My Built Up Hawk. At Loudon the bike is Great and It wins . I want to race the R.O.C> this year in daytona in Oct.  Anybody have any expeirence racing Little bikes at Daytona. Or am I bringing a knife to a Gunfight.

EM JAY

I raced an Mz Skorpion at Daytona my first year racing....took a bit to get it up the banks but was still a blast.  On  a built hawk you should be ok in the UltralightSB.

In March of this year a Honda won the class and I am assuming that it was a Hawk. An MZ was second. You will be fine.

I raced my built FZR400 there at both events last year, won in the spring, got a 3rd in the fall (behind an Aprilia and an EX500-powered FZR) and had a blast both times.  The only guys that are outgunned are the motards but your Hawk will be fine.  Just pick up the smallest rear sprocket you can find.  Wish I could join you but I lost a coin toss with the wife...

Forgot to mention, you should run GT Lights and as many of the other LW races as you can afford.  Hey, the SVs aren't really all THAT fast...

I raced a 1993 RS125 at Daytona in 2005, and I beat some TZ250's.

I hear it is not the bike, it's the racer.

Built Hawk + Daytona = Blown Motor

Oh Yeah, I forgot about that. I will send the motor to JD Hord with the money I saved not going to Daytona

Paul,

Yeah, it's so, but I'll be at Summit Point in a few weeks.  Hope to see you there.
