Allen, are you available? Would you like to work control for me?

Mike, you probably want to play in a corner, so I'm going to ask Glen to ASD.

Simon, you're racing on Saturday, so you can play on Sunday, too.

Is the Kobayashi Krew planning on attending?

Who else is coming? I need a good turnout!

hey Chris right now it's up in the air i won't be able to give you a answer till mon. or tue of next week I'm getting ready to start a new job, with the same company but it will involve a lot of travel and i may be in Pennsylvania that weekend. If not then yeah I'll do control for you.

TheHiriser

I don't necessarily have to play in a corner but whatever you need from me is fine by me.  I got my fix on Main last race weekend.  If Glen is still lamed up I'm available both days and could even do the T12, Rash, and ASD role again.

Either way I'm there both days as usual and I'll help with bringing stuff over, setting it out and taking it all back again if needed.

Simon

I can play all day on Sunday...and after first race on Saturday!!

There also could be two people coming from the Midwest Safety Crew to play with us as well.  He contacted me directly and I sent him through the proper channels.  I think at this point he's been taken care of.  He's bringing his GF along as well.  He has 3 years of CW experience.  I don't know if we are having a school that weekend or not but just as a heads up they are signed up last I knew.

castle228

Cool, we're always happy to have some new recruits! And yes, there is a CW school on Saturday.

Mike, any chance you'd like to do control?

Aren't you two just the riot.   :lmao:

You know that probably could be pulled off though.  Although at times I might end up talking to myself.   "Turn 12 to control.....oh wait.......    Gives whole new meaning to copying direct as well.

Terry will probably want to kill me for saying this but I'll do Control if no one else is available.  As much as I hate Control, I'd hate more to think of the alternatives.

fightinflames

hey chris yeah it's official i'm not going to be able to make it out that weekend i'm trying to come out saturday before i head up north to work a corner but control is out for me for the weekend since i won't be able to be there both days sorry i couldn't help you out.  hey simon gimmie a call on my cell (540) 295-8497 about the last wera weekend.

Okay Mike, you are control, sir.  :spank:

There are other alternatives, but I really do appreciate you steppin' up. You ARE the man.

Allen, no worries. Congrats with the new job.

Simon and Kumi, don't give up your day jobs to pursue stand-up comedy.

I think everyone should be trained in Control.   You can't get as excited up there when you can't see what is going on.  Probably why you are positioned at Main facing the straight and basically the same at Shenny.

fightinflames

i agree mike i think everyone should spend at least a day up there. it would really help to explain alot of what goes on behind the scenes to people who just don't know. and i think it would help new and experienced corner workers to get another look at why we ask them to make calls the way we do and why we don't always hear them. i wouldn't want to push control on anyone because it's just not the thing for everyone but i would be willing to have anyone come and sit up there on a weekend I'm in control  especially on  a wera weekend when you have 4 radios to answer at one time.

Allen

TheHiriser

The only thing I dislike is the mental aspect.  :wah:  I have to think too much for work as it is so on race weekends I'd rather have to make those quick decisions on whether to pick up a bike or call for a stoppage.  Not the constantly thinking aspect of being in Control.  :whine:  But a few times a year won't kill me and also keep me sharp for when we have no one else to do it.  :thumb:

When we get our membership back up to where it use to be we can afford to throw some people on control to watch sort of along the lines of what Roger was trying to accomplish during the endurance with a roving crew to relieve people.  Sit up there for a couple of races and then back to your corner.  :lmao:

TheHiriser

Chris, as it gets closer I'll be looking at the weather and if the weekend isn't too crappy I'll be camping from Friday night on.  If they are calling for light showers I'll probably just sleep in the van.  If it is all good in the tent.  If you need me to do anything to the radios or prep anything else let me know.

fightinflames

hey chris i'll be coming in friday night as well  and will be working on saturday so if you need anyhelp bringing suff over let  me know  and i'll leave town a little sooner all depends what time your getting up there.
Allen

castle228

I won't be able to make it to the track until Saturday morning. Can one of you get the radios and other misc. control equipment brought over?

And I think Terry said he'll be there Friday evening to bring equipment over.

Thanks for the help guys...and I'll be sending out assignments tomorrow. Just got back into town from a short vacation in FL.

How does it all work?  Do we bring all the stuff over and plug it in on Friday night?  I know where in the Shenny tower everything goes but just don't know how we work it.  I have a radio room key.  I'll make sure and be on the look out for Terry as well.

If you can think of anything else you'll need you can call my cell.  240-529-4255.

castle228

The chargers come right off the wall, so just leave those radios in them. Grab all the scanner & radio boxes. Also need to grab a couple spare radios, for Able & Baker. And yes, the radios should be brought over and plugged in Friday evening.

Thanks for the help!

I should have my van pretty much cleaned out so I can get all of it in one fell swoop.  Hopefully can remember to grab everything.  See you all there.

hey mike i'll be up friday about 5pm i know what goes over and where it goes so i'll look for you wen i get there if something changes give me a call (540) 295-8497

Simon

Mike, you don't need all the scanners. I usually take two for each turn plus the radio's. I'm taking my bike down on Friday, if I get there early enough I'll give you a hand.

Isn't that a bit risky that all workers won't get scanners??? You know we are usually stacked 4 deep in each turn at Shenny  :lmao:... okay..smite me for my sarcasm

See you this weekend!!!  I heard a rumor that the wonderful Lesley, et al MAY be working cafe??? Is that true???

I'm not sure when I'll get there.  It is all dependent upon work which I'm still at and it is almost 6pm.  I might have to put the smack down :spank: and tell the boss I'm leaving early on Friday.  At any rate I think we'll have everything covered with a lot of us showing up on Friday night.

Mike, Simon & Allen, no matter what Terry says about the 3 of you, you guys rock!!

If I do come Friday, I will have brats and beer in tow....
