Anybody have any experience with the hotels around Hallett?  They all appear to be locally owned.

Stayed at the Budget ZZZ older motel (probably 1960's) was kept up fairly well but real short shower heads (like Becka would need to duck to get under one ) price was good and they were very accomdating to racers providing towels for cleaning bikes and large parking lot for rigs, all ground floor rooms. But it is older place and the rooms are smaller. The couple that owned it the husnband had died and the widow was trying to sell it the last time(04?) I was there so unsure on status now. Restaurant across the street had good breakfast and dinner buffet.  Closest place to the track about 20 min. Was always my place to stay while at Hallett, if I was not in Motorhome, as it was clean but old and I can deal with that.

Best Western in Sand Springs stayed there once when Budget ZZ was booked, good quality motel and fair number of chain restaturants close but you have to take toll road to track each day about 40 min travel time as I remember(could be a bit quicker  but I think I had planned for 45 min each morning)

All the hotels in Cleveland, OK (closest to Hallett) are dumps. There are only three and they are all dumps. The last time I stayed in one (name withheld to protect the innocent but Eric likes it) ::) was 05 when my buddy insisted. When he pulled the covers back on his bed there were literally roaches in his bed. We had a great laugh (still do) but never bother with any of them any more. You are really better off just staying on the west side of Tulsa. It is only about 10 miles further away.

willy is right.  stay in tulsa jack.  it's only about 30 minutes and there are much more options and more places to eat.  i can get you more info if you need it.  bought an 07 r6, i should be there.

Jack_Brock

Jeremy-I am totally jealous of your bike!  I'd love to have one of the newer R6s.  I'll look forward to checking it out this weekend.  I hope we get a good turnout.

Bill-I've gotten a few calls saying the same thing, and my wife would freak!

So..........

I've looked online and called and there isn't anything left in Tulsa or anything else within an hour. My wife has decided my daughter and her will stay at her parents in Tulsa.  They don't really have room for me, so I'll probably just stay at the track Saturday night.  If anybody staying at the track has an extra bed in the A/C or even space for my air mattress in the A/C, I would be forever grateful.

Sounds like the Budget ZZZ was finally sold and the care and upkeep from the older couple that ran it is no longer there. Like I said it was either 03 or 04 that I was there last and she tried to get me to buy it.  :lmao:

I just figured out why every hotel room in Tulsa and the surrounding area is booked.  The PGA is in town starting Wednesday-are there really that many people that spectate a golf tournament?  Maybe Dean can work some magic and have them come spectate a real sport.  That would be nice for all of us.

Lake Shore Motel (18 Miles)
Mannford, Ok 74044
918-865-4752

maybe even the cherokee casino.  they've got a ton of rooms in the big hotel and a little motel.  but with the pga it'd be rough.

I can hit a pretty good shot.  Maybe I should bring my clubs and aim at you on the track.  That might get some spectators.

Thanks for all the replies and offers.  It looks like I've got a plan and will get to enjoy the track festivities Saturday night.  See you all there.

I was thinking he has been watching too much of that wacky Japanese show where they do strange events.
