...stop by on Saturday and say hello to Shotaro, our exchange student.  My wife and son will be bringing him to see things that we crazy Americans do for fun.  We're getting by, but he doesn't speak much english and my son's two years of high school Japanese aren't really up to the task so it's been interesting.

Our favorite quote from him so far...
"Americans eat many animals" ...when discussing typical food fare.

In my best Japanese accent I will slowly and loudly say:

"THIS IS BEER"
"THIS IS FUNNEL"

and go from there! :lmao:

(you know, everyone can understand English if you put an accent on it and say it loud and slow enough right?!?!)

I know 'Konichiwa' and 'domo arrigato'. However, I'll keep that to myself, because if he starts speaking a bunch of stuff, I'll get a blank look on my face, as I don't understand any Asian language, even though I studied a bit of Korean.  :ahhh:

What the hell were you trying to say?

Have no idea. Something my martial arts instructor said after every class. Just spelled it out how it sounded.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOOOHOOO! What a freaken ride"

Thanks for the offer of books, but we've got that covered with dictionaries and a computer translator that he brought with him.

Beer funnel, Jeff??  Well, okay as long as the two guys sleep in your RV.  You're gonna need a few buckets since they don't know how to drink yet.   Your RV interior might lose that fresh new smell...

The rest of you give him a wave and say Hi.  You won't have any trouble picking him out from the rest of us rabble!

We all know that drunk asian foreign exchange students sleep in trees and front yards.  Just watch Better off Dead!
