I think maybe I answered my own question! Loudon is very dangerous in its present form, especially in the wet. I race in the USCRA, and I will not race in the rain. Does anyone out here also find Loudon a scary place? I had an idea though. How about going back to future? If anyone has seen "On any Sunday" there is a scene where Mert Lawill is on board his growling KRTT flathead in Loudon! Well they are going clockwise as opposed to the current anti-clockwise direction. The track is much smoother with more run off especially in turn 1, when going clockwise. Well lets go back to that!  Repave the whole road course while reconfiguring some of corners to fit the "new old way" What do you think? Regards, Dan

The Loudon track prior to around 1991 or so was a stand alone road course.  After that, an oval was built.  The road course outside the oval is part of the old track you see in the movie.

Go clockwise now, and there will be other issues.
