We will be running the CCS configuration w/o the chicane on the back straight before the finish line. Race direction will be clockwise. All CCS racers and sportbike riders are welcome. This is for you and your friends to tune up before the races. Control riders will be on track to show you the fast way around. They are also available for consultation.:thumb:Since our days are all about fun, we will let you experience the banked karussell.  It is exciting and you will be talking about this for a while.

Gates open at 7:30 and you can sign up that day at the track. Only $150 for the day!

Do you mean that CCS runs without the chicane, and you are doing the same?  Or you're running the CCS layout except for the chicane, which will be different?  Also, will CCS run the banked karussell?

I signed up for the day with the understanding that you would run the EXACT SAME layout as CCS.  Hoping for a little clarification.

ccs runs with the chicane on the front strait right before the grid
its not the greatest track but its fun sucks in the rain which looks like 40% chance of rain

Roger is running without the spongebob chicane because he feels(and I agree) that chicane is unsafe as it points the riders directly at a wall. I think he is going to run a couple sessions with the carosel, but it is still basically the same layout.

Got a question since this is my first shenandoah run... Since we are running clockwise, which side is the scoring tower on?  Can I keep my bike set up for main or do I need to switch?  Thanks in advance for your help...

scoring is the same as it is on Summit Main...on rider's right side - but no tower...

The chicane is definately the scariest point of that track. Makes it hard to get you're ass off the seat, when you have pucker factor ten going on through there! I vote they get rid of that silly ass chicane!

Thanks Paul...that's a relief...

Just looking at the chicane on aerial photos is puckering enough...guess i'll find out soon enough.

IMO the chicane is a bad set up...since it's not marked on the pavement or any permanent fixture it's never in the same spot - one weekend last year it was moved from day to day..and was in one spot for practice and moved for the race...a real pain.

Plus the fact it points you right into a wall...best thing would be for a new chicane to be put on the outside of the track in the nice wide open field to rider's left...or not to use it at all....

but then you go full tilt into T1-T2 which doesn't have a hell of a lot of run off.   :err:

now don't get me wrong it's still a fun track..but it's got spots that put the  APF (ass pucker factor) to 10.

Guess that's why we had such low grids last year..a lot of people choose not to run it.

the chicane is fine. could be marked out better and yes i do recall sponge bob being moved from day to day last year

if you raced all the way to turn one... if you didn't catch air going up the hill you would be going into turn one real fast. which isn't a bad thing because it could be taken a lot faster then the speed you gain from the chicane or the starting grid.
but if there were an incident there it would most likely be much worse then one in the chicane. do to the speed to run off
but run it how ever you want.. I will race it anyway even in the rain
and yes bobby that track sucks in the rain
